Stitching and Garment making Level 2
This course combines the opportunity to practice the various sewing techniques demonstrated at the beginning of each class and simultaneously construct the garments using the patterns completed from the pattern drafting courses or generic patterns. Course is taught by Tsufa whose main line of work is consulting and training the start-up fashion companies and established fashion houses under her company Tsufa Fashion LLC. The course is setup as a workshop hence it is suitable for both the beginners as well as those that are experienced. Both are welcome to bring in any garment details from a magazine or any other source, and we will demonstrate those techniques in class.
Demos presented at the beginning of each class are the most commonly used techniques in garment construction. Rest of the class is utilized to construct your own garment(s).
Upon completion of this course, your knowledge of the sewing and construction techniques will enhance the possibilities of a new approach to creative garment construction.

Beginning
I’ve been fascinated with creativity, arts and crafts from an early age. Whenever I had a chance, I’d watch artisans busy with their work such as knitting, embroidery, crochet, sewing, jewelry making, painting and even wood work. I was adept at using a sewing machine by the time I was eight, stitching dresses for dolls and nurturing my passion.
Parents
My family, realizing the potential I displayed and my passion for all things creative, encouraged me to pursue fashion designing.
Work
I eventually started designing clothes for boutiques and even hospitals. In addition to this, I’d always kept myself busy knitting shawls, sweaters, caps and even stitching clothes for friends and family. I’ve also designed jewelry at Bead Palace.
Employment
I’ve worked at a leading school in Dubai UAE, where I headed the Art and Craft department for over 25 years. Throughout my tenure, I’d taught knitting, sewing, stitching, crochet and painting, to mention a few areas, and even taught other subjects alongside these realizing my natural ability to impart learning and knowledge to children in primary and secondary stages of the school.
Dubai Arts Center
I’ve been associated with the center for approximately 20 years. At the center, I teach knitting and crochet to adults, and also teach children how to make soft toys and embroidery.
Charity Work
I’ve done crochet work and also donated caps and blankets for charity. I’ve also been part of a group inducted into the Guinness book of World records for my contribution towards the world’s largest quilt
