Thanks to the University's sister-diocese relationship with the Diocese of Port-de-Paix, Haiti, St. Thomas University students have the unique opportunity to leverage their research and learning into long-term economic development projects in Haiti's poorest region. Fair-trade coffee, artisan, and solar energy projects are just some ways that St. Thomas University students are taking concrete steps to transform the world.

Various scholarships have been established through the generosity of the university and philanthropic efforts of our Board of Trustees, donors, alums, businesses and associations to reward and support student academic performance and achievement.

As a private Catholic University, the university takes great pride in granting students significant scholarship awards.

Over 90% of our students receive some source of financial assistance through the many programs and services the university offers. In addition to the many federal and state grants that you might qualify for, if you qualify for our university awards (undergraduate) your tuition will be reduced by 43%. The St. Thomas University student population is comprised of a diverse group of students that includes international students from nearly 60 nations. International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) administers a wide variety of services to the international community of St. Thomas University.

The mission of ISSS is to facilitate international students' admittance to the United States, to assist international students' transition to life in the United States and at St. Thomas University, and to provide services necessary to meet the special needs of international students in accordance with SEVP Federal Regulations.
