Lewis provides more than 80 undergraduate majors and programs of study, 35 graduate programs, and accelerated programs for working adults through the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Education and Nursing and Health Professions.

Premier programs include aviation, criminal/social justice, education, nursing, and business. Lewis is one of many schools sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers with over 320 years of teaching experience in the Lasallian tradition.

The Office of Mission & Identity is responsible for programs and activities that engage, celebrate, and support the University community’s development in and understanding of our Mission, Catholic identity, and Lasallian heritage. The Office is responsible for, among other things, faculty, staff and student Mission orientation, Mission-based programming, recognition, and assessment, faculty/staff development for Mission (formation), and Mission-based hiring.

The Office also serves as a resource for those wishing to better understand and explore the heritage and identity of Lewis University. The Office collaborates with faculty and staff to advance the Mission of the University in the spirit of Association through a variety of structures, including the Mission and Heritage Council, the Center for Ministry and Spirituality, the Lasallian Vocation Council, University Ministry, the Department of Theology, and others.

Founded in 1932, Lewis is a dynamic, coeducational university offering more than 80 undergraduate majors and programs of study, 37 graduate programs, and two doctoral programs. Lewis is one of many schools sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, an international Roman Catholic teaching order.

Lewis has 227 full-time faculty members who take their students' personal and professional success to heart. The majority hold terminal degrees in their fields. Many are experienced practitioners. The student/faculty ratio is 13:1. Enriched by a diverse population, Lewis offers an inviting community. With more than 100 clubs and organizations, and 22 intercollegiate NCAA Division II athletic teams, Lewis has something of interest for everyone. Activities include the theatreand performing arts, intramural sports, club sports and athletics, a nationally recognized scholars program, and peer ministry and volunteerism.

Lewis has 6,500 undergraduate and graduate students. Many are from the Chicago region, with international students representing more than 40 countries. Lewis welcomes students of all cultures and religious faiths with a 34 percent minority population.

97 percent of Lewis students receive some sort of financial aid. Last year, more than 30 million dollars of institutional dollars were awarded based on need, financial merit, or academic achievement.
