Anderson University

Anderson University is a private, liberal artsinstitution in Anderson, Indiana, founded in 1917 by the Church of God.Our mission is to educate students for lives of faith and service in the church and society.

Anderson University has made significant advances in its 100 years, progressing from a Bible training school to a full-fledged liberal arts college and finally to a university offering more than 50 undergraduate majors, as well as graduate programs in business, music education, and theology.

Today about 1,800 students call Anderson University home; more than 1,500 of these are undergraduate. AU provides more than 130 ways for students to get involved on campus, including 20 NCAA Division III sports, a nationally-recognized intramural program, and numerous interest clubs.

Spiritual life is an important part of Anderson University. Whether through dynamic speakers at twice-weekly chapel, weekly floor focus groups, or mentorship with faculty and staff members, AU is not only a safe place for students to grow in their faith journey; it is a place for students to know and to be known.

Servant leadership is exemplified through student-led campus ministries and service projects that contribute to not just the campus community, but to the city of Anderson and the greater Madison County area. AU’s unique Tri-S program (founded in 1964, to stand for Study, Serve, Share) provides students affordable service-learning and cross-cultural opportunities, with trips spanning six continents, 102 countries, and 27 states.

The campus is conveniently located in Central Indiana, less than an hour from amenities and internship opportunities in downtown Indianapolis. Through the support of the Center for Career and Calling, students are able gain important skills and secure internships that are valuable to future employers.

The Office of the University Registrar provides direct support to students, staff, and faculty through services such as student registration, organization and maintenance of student academic records, implementing and monitoring academic policies, and the development of useful information systems. It is the desire of the office to provide these services in a timely, accurate and helpful manner.

Our office seeks to create a vital link between the University community and its undergraduate students, articulate the institution's academic purposes, and help students understand and negotiate the institution's academic rules, regulations, and requirements.

With more than thirty locations around the world, Anderson University offers you a wide range of opportunities to live, learn, and serve internationally.For short term learning-service programs we offer the Anderson University Tri-S program.

Our campus life experience is all about getting students to interact with one another by participating in fun activities, shared interests, and maybe even some friendly competition. Students have over 130 opportunities to get involved on campus. The Department of Student Life serves all students through educational opportunities in a manner of excellence and intentionality to encourage their holistic development and educational success.
