The Office of Financial Aid works with prospective and current students in finding sources of financial aid to pay for college. We assist students and parents with applying for aid, understanding the financial aid process, learning about the different types of aid available, maintaining financial aid eligibility and managing finances while in college.
Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the recipient’s course of study.
Purdue University Northwest offers a variety of scholarships to recognize student achievement and provide financial assistance to help with the cost of an education. Students are awarded institutional scholarships based on donor requirements, student qualifications and fund availability. Scholarships may be awarded for merit, financial need or both. Most scholarships have deadlines and may be awarded well in advance of the next academic year. Students who are interested in pursuing scholarship opportunities are encouraged to apply early.

The Purdue Northwest International Admissions Office provides services to a culturally vibrant and diverse international student community. We admit international students to the university, and offer advising and guidance with the process of admissions to our Undergraduate Programs. We help with marketing and recruitment efforts, as well as serve our sponsored student population that receive scholarships from their home countries.

On February 26, 2014, Purdue University announced a plan to unify the administration of the university’s two northwest Indiana campuses, Purdue Calumet and Purdue North Central. On July 18, 2014, the Purdue Board of Trustees approved Purdue University Northwest as the name of the unified Hammond and Westville campuses. Dr. Thomas Keon, Chancellor of Purdue Calumet, was appointed Chancellor-Designate of Purdue Northwest on November 20, 2015.
Unification was completed on July 1, 2016. Purdue Northwest is now a comprehensive university enrolling more than 12,000 students, employing more than 1,500 faculty and staff, and offering more than 70 graduate and undergraduate programs of study on two campuses. Both Purdue Hammond and Purdue Westville have been making history in the Northwest Indiana region since 1946.
