Since it was founded in 1834, Franklin College has been a leader in liberal arts education. In 1842, Franklin became the first college in Indiana — and only the seventh in the nation—to admit women, and that spirit of inclusiveness still characterizes the college today. Over the past 175 years, Franklin College has remained dedicated to the educational ideals of our namesake — a broad liberal arts curriculum, hands-on learning experiences, and a commitment to ethical leadership at home and abroad.
With a tight-knit student body of 1,023 students and a highly involved faculty, Franklin College offers a wealth of opportunities you might not expect from a small school. With 55 majors in 24 academic disciplines to choose from — plus a location convenient to the businesses and organizations in Indianapolis — Franklin College gives you the chance to excel.

We like it that way. Maybe it’s playing on a sports team or getting involved in Greek life. Or perhaps it’s performing with choir or volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. Wherever you choose to jump in, you’ll find yourself at home.

Franklin College students have the chance to intern at various organizations and businesses around the state and even the country. Internships serve as exploratory tools, a way for students to “test drive” a career. And with the ability to gain valuable internship experience as early as freshman year, students have ample time to experience a variety of career opportunities during both spring and fall semesters as well as Winter Term.
In the past, students have interned at Rolls Royce, the Indiana Pacers, WISH TV, Indiana Senator Richard Lugar’s office, Dolphins Plus, The Indianapolis Star and the Indiana State Senate, among many other noteworthy locations. Students have also found internships at not-for-profits like Franklin Heritage, Girls Inc., Esperanza En Jesucristo,Youth Connections and the Riley Children’s Foundation.
The Franklin College faculty and staff do everything that they can to help students make valuable contacts within the working world. Students interested in internship opportunities should contact Career Services for available positions and a detailed list of internship requirements. Students are welcome to search for outside internships on their own, however, all internships must be approved by Career Services before a student will receive credit toward graduation.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
I really enjoyed my time at Franklin College. Even though I didn't quite enjoy the experience in my particular major area of interest, faculty in other departments more than made up for it. I would attend Franklin College every time.
