Hope College is a four-year liberal arts college where academic excellence and vibrant Christian faith join together in a supportive and welcoming community.
Hope’s campus is nestled in the heart of downtown Holland, just miles from Lake Michigan. We’ve been part of this community for more than 150 years, growing from the 10 students who enrolled in 1862 to more than 3,300 students on campus today.
From the beginning, Hope College has looked to the future. Here, historic architecture fits comfortably with world-class facilities: Van Vleck Hall, built in 1857, is just a block from our Pelletron particle accelerator.
Our commitment to our Christian heritage (founded in partnership with the Reformed Church in America) points us to the deepest engagement in academics and in life. This rare combination of deep roots and rigorous preparation for the world of tomorrow equips Hope students to go into the world and make an impact in their communities.
The mission of Hope College is to educate students for lives of leadership and service in a global society through academic and co-curricular programs of recognized excellence in the liberal arts and in the context of the historic Christian faith.
The numbers are in! At Hope College, our numbers demonstrate our commitment to student-faculty collaborative research and scholarly project. Here, inquisitive students work alongside faculty and staff mentors to pursue original research that adds new knowledge and understanding to all academic fields. Through these hands-on projects, students learn more about the world — and about themselves.
Offering 91 majors, minors and pre-professional programs, Hope provides the flexibility for students to pursue their academic interests. Our student:faculty ratio of 11:1 ensures that our small class sizes encourage support and mentoring.
Hope is committed to educating students with respect for and awareness of the historic Christian faith. Historically affiliated with the Reformed Church in America, we are ecumenically diverse. Students of all faiths — and no faith — are welcome here.Hope enrolls 3,150 students from 36 states and territories and 29 countries. With the great opportunities and programs Hope provides, each of them can look forward to attending their first choice of graduate and professional schools.Hope is consistently awarded more National Science Foundation grants for undergraduate research than any other liberal arts college and was ranked fourth for undergraduate research and creative activity by US News & World Report.

Hope College is a fantastic liberal arts college, especially given its location and religious affiliation. The quality of education I received across departments was outstanding and from my perspective, the sciences are especially strong at Hope. Despite its small size, there is a wide array of intensive research and professional opportunities available to you, including summer research. i really enjoy here, experience are ow some, like Hope College... Its Great..!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my liberal arts education at Hope College. The professors are top rate and very kind. The school has a strong Christian culture so if you do not share the faith, you may feel a little uneasy with the very free expression of it.

Hope College provided not only a top, liberal arts education, but did so in an environment that helped frame a worldview that has enabled me to be successful in every position I've held.

Hope College like any college is what you make of it. There are numerous clubs and intramural activities to keep people active. If you want to make religion a part of your life, that is definitely available but it is not forced down your throat. Every student you walk by has a smile and says "hi". If you have Hope on your resume it is a definite plus. It's very easy to complain about things, I wish the people that weren't happy at Hope would have spoken to someone, there are a lot of caring and loving people at Hope.
