St. Bonaventure University is a place where more than 2,000 students are becoming extraordinary.

Founded in 1858 in the interest of promoting Catholic-Franciscan education, the university continues to this day to pursue academic excellence through personalized attention that reflects the Franciscan tradition of valuing human relationships.

We instill in students a real passion for learning and living. We encourage independent study, critical analysis and original expression. Our professors are committed and approachable faculty who dedicate themselves to making connections — among themselves, their courses and, most importantly, their students.

Undergraduate and graduate programs are offered in the liberal arts and sciences, business, education, and journalism and mass communication, and three graduate degrees are offered in a 100% online format through St. Bonaventure University Online.

Programs are also offered by the University’s Franciscan Institute, which has produced seminal publications and hosted the world’s foremost Franciscan scholars. The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts includes a world-class museum that enriches student learning experiences as well as the quality of life throughout Western New York.

Founded in 1858, St. Bonaventure is a Catholic university dedicated to educational excellence in the Franciscan tradition.

We are committed to the constant pursuit of distinction in our undergraduate and graduate programs, our innovative liberal arts core and all of our courses of study.

At St. Bonaventure University, we come to know our students on an individual basis and become their mentors. We strive to bring out the best in every individual. As an academic and spiritual community, we endeavor to prepare our students for the challenges they will face in their professional careers as well as in their personal lives. True to our Franciscan heritage, we encourage students to manifest our values through lives of citizenship and service.

The key to what happens in a Bonaventure classroom starts with outstanding faculty who enjoy teaching. Our faculty are here because they are passionate about their subject areas and about sharing that passion with students.

When you study abroad, you have the opportunity to live in a new culture, travel and explore how the world works, and to learn — not only the culture, but about the country and people. Most importantly, you will learn more about yourself than you ever thought possible.

St. Bonaventure University is a high quality educational institution where students bring their values-based education they receive at our university into the real work world.

St. Bonaventure University attracts students locally, nationally, and internationally while offering an 11:1 student to faculty ratio. Big athletics, big opportunities and small class sizes — we continue to build for the future.

Selecting the right university is important. Over a lifetime, the benefits of a quality college education will far exceed its costs. But we realize that cost is an important factor, so we offer aid based on need and academic performance, and we encourage ALL students to apply for financial aid.

There's a lot to do at St. Bonaventure when you're not cracking the books, and with 75% of our students (96% of freshmen) living on campus, there are always lots of students to do things with.

It's while they are engaged in activities on this friendly close-knit campus that our students develop that signature Bonaventure bond, a connection to each other and to the university that, for many, lasts a lifetime.

No matter what your interest -- the theater, dance, music, indoor and outdoor sports and recreation, community service, cultural enrichment -- you'll find plenty of opportunities to pursue your passions at St. Bonaventure University.

The Office of Disability Support Services at St. Bonaventure University is committed to providing an equal opportunity for success for all St. Bonaventure students with permanent or temporary disabilities. St. Bonaventure does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, national origin, age, gender, marital status, or disabled state in its admissions policies, educational programs or employment practices. The Office of Disability Support Services offers students a wide array of academic and personal support services to aid their personal growth, ability to self-advocate, and academic success.

We are excited to partner with you as you embark on your extraordinary journey as a Bonnie. Our office supports new students as they transition to university life and promotes success in academic, social and residential environments.

Peer coaches are upperclass students who are academically successful, involved in the university and want to help others succeed. Peer coaches help incoming students make the transition and then push them to become involved. Coaches are empowering, positive, academically savvy, mature, responsible, engaged within the university, open and honest.

St. Bonaventure University's Learning Center is an intrinsic element of the university's goal of academic excellence. We are a group who provides and promotes both creative and dynamic instruction as well as utilizes and teaches dedicated, critical, and active learning. Students, faculty, and staff may use the center's myriad programs and staff talents to explore means to enhance their academic growth.

We encourage academic accountability: we want our patrons to accept responsibility for their own academic excellence — we provide background and assistance. Students may consult one-on-one or in-group with members of the center's staff to acquire greater command of a subject, procure assistance with a specific assignment, or discuss academic challenges.
