The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown offers special services to students with disabilities in order to create optimal and equal access for academic success. In collaboration, the Disability Services staff works with members of the campus community to ensure that the student is integrated into the University system in a way that promotes reaching his or her desired academic goals.

Pitt-Johnstown's Financial Aid Office helps students and families meet educational costs. Working together, the office assists in making a Pitt-Johnstown education a reality. The office processed about $39 million in scholarships, grants, and loans in 2017-18. This has helped to provide assistance to more than 89% of our students. The Financial Aid Office administers federal and state aid programs, such as grants, scholarships, student loans, and Federal Work-Study employment.

Pitt-Johnstown undergraduate research encompasses intellectual, creative and/or scholarly activities, in which the student and faculty member have a collaborative relationship. Research may take many forms including class projects, capstone seminars, senior projects, and independent studies. Originality is key to the student's work. These projects may be presented locally, regionally, or nationally; the real hallmark of an undergraduate research, creative or scholarly project, is that it offers students the opportunity to experience their discipline in the real world.
