The UT Southwestern Medical Center Office of Admissions, a team within Student and Alumni Affairs, is delighted that you are considering one of our academic programs. Applications must be made through the Texas Medical and Dental Schools Application Service (TMDSAS). Admission to UT Southwestern Medical School is determined by an Admission Committee appointed by the Dean of the Medical School, comprising faculty members from both basic science and clinical departments. A personal interview is required and is initiated by invitation from the Admissions Committee.

The Office of Financial Aid at UT Southwestern Medical Center administers scholarships, grants, and federal and institutional student loans for the Medical School, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and the School of Health Professions. To be eligible for financial assistance, students must be accepted for admission or enrolled in good standing and making satisfactory academic progress.

Part of UT Southwestern’s mission is to provide lifelong learning opportunities for health care professionals. Continuing medical education (CME) courses offered through UT Southwestern’s Office of Continuing Medical Education help us keep physicians, Ph.D.s, and allied health professionals at the leading edge of medicine.

Each year, thousands of health care professionals participate in activities provided by UT Southwestern’s CME Office such as seminars, workshops, teleconferences, and self-directed learning offerings, among others.
