At Saint Michael's, our students study across a broad spectrum of subjects and undergraduate education is our faculty's main focus. All courses are taught by professors (never by teaching assistants) who are highly regarded experts in their fields. Classes are small enough for everyone to know each other by name, and learning happens through conversation as well as through lectures.

You'll focus your education by choosing from more than 30 majors and minors, and then dive deeper with our experiential learning opportunities. That means you can explore the community through service, the world through international study, the working world with an internship, or collaborate with faculty on research projects that are rarely found in the undergraduate level—projects have included work in Hawaii on the Keck Telescopeand sustainable agriculture in India.

At St. Mike's, we put great thought and care into what our students learn, and how they learn it. Whether you're studying the environment, the global economy, new media, psychology, biochemistry, world religions or accounting, you'll be taught by expert faculty who will mentor you, illuminate your career and life paths, nurture your talents and challenge you to explore your values.

Choose from more than 30 majors; each is grounded in a meaningful liberal studies curriculum. That means you're going to learn about our world, past, present and future. You'll study things you’ll need four years from now, and things you’ll recall 20 years from now. You'll critically examine issues, solve abstract and concrete problems, and think for yourself, while keeping others in mind.

A Saint Michael's education is a four-year experience that will change the way you see and care for the world. Our faculty include acclaimed scientists, authors, musicians, historians and directors. And, they are here to teach you: every course is taught by a professor, not a teaching assistant. Our student-faculty ratio is 12:1, with 1:1 advising with a professor in your field of study and guidance not only with your coursework but your plans for the future.

Service to the community and to all humankind is at the heart of St. Mike's. More than 70 percent of our students participate in service, reflecting our passion for and history of social justice. You can explore spirituality through retreats and campus ministry programs, and put faith into action with extended service trips.

At St. Mike's, you get the best of both worlds: quick access to a top college town, and on-campus housing that's guaranteed for all four years and that includes options like quad dorms for first-year students, suites with single rooms for sophomores and juniors and townhouses for seniors.

Our Adventure Sports Center will take you out into Vermont's environment, and your all-access Sugarbush Ski Area season pass (available to all students in good academic standing) will make skiing and riding a top activity. The Burlington area has great opportunities for hands-on learning through internships--lots of our graduates start their careers here after graduation and never leave.

Life at St. Mike's is packed with meaningful activity - students here are seriously involved. In many ways, they make campus run, taking on leadership roles, rallying support for worthy causes and generally making things happen. You can be sure that whether they're pursuing new ideas in the classroom or testing their limits on the top of Vermont's highest mountain, there's no end to exploration, challenge and learning.
