The education my daughter receives in Virginia is nothing short of transformative, with dedicated staff who truly empower students to flourish and reach new heights.

I absolutely loved my 4 years at JMU. I went to a private, college prep high school so I was adequately prepared for college life. A lot of my freshman friends were failing or average but my freshman year was my best year. My classes had a tremendous impact on my ability to be a successful business owner for a few years. My own children will probably apply to JMU in 3 years from now. I still maintain the close friendships I made while at JMU.

Had a great experience, diverse student population. College of Business was excellent, chose to return and purse my MBA because the undergrad Business program was so well structured.

I truly love a lot about JMU: the social life, the food, the landscape.. One of the best aspects of this university is the exceptional quality of education students receive. JMU is academically challenging (probably one of the most challenging in Virginia), but the professors here make the work challenging to promote use and development of critical thinking skills and in order to apply conceptual knowledge in unique ways. To me, it seems that students that graduate from JMU are typically well-prepared for any career opportunity or challenge they are bound to encounter.

Deciding to attend JMU was the best decision I've ever made in my life. JMU has given me the opportunity to grow and become a better person and to excel in my chosen major. As a freshman, I have more research experiences, volunteer work, and extracurricular activities than my two best friends (one attending an Ivy League and one attending another top public school in VA). Every single faculty here treats me as a person, not as a number. The Honors Program is phenomenal as well, especially the opportunity to do a senior thesis. The sports atmosphere here is awesome, not to mention the marching band is AMAZING!! The only thing about JMU that doesn't appeal to me is the large party scene, but people here never pressure others to drink and, as a whole, are very respectful of those who choose not to partake.

JMU is not an easy school but it is the best experience and mix of an experience I could have ever asked from a college. My professors are great. The dorms are fun and safe and bigger than my room at home. I was accepted to many different schools but chose JMU and I will never regret it. I have been here since August and hope winter break flies by so I can get back to my friends and this place! Challenging classes but great structure and aids to rely on for all classes. GREAT GREAT food.
