Ferrum College boasts a wide range of extracurricular activities and amenities comprising an array of student clubs and organizations, as well as nineteen NCAA Division III athletic sports for men and women, plus women’s wrestling, an equestrian program, and cheerleading. Our Ferrum Outdoorsprogram allows you to experience adventures in nearby mountains and state parks and on lakes and rivers. We have popular national franchises such as Papa John’s and Subway, and we proudly serve Starbucks in our News Café at the bookstore. The 30,000 square foot Hank Norton Center is home to most of our outdoor athletic programs. Our on-campus YMCA welcomes both the College and the community, with YMCA membership available to all students.

Stanley Library consists of three floors designed to give our students a variety of learning spaces.The 21st Century Learning Center is the first floor of the Library and houses our Learning Engagement and Practice (LEaP) Studio for library instruction, our Digital Media Center, our Digital Audio Lab, and our “green screen” room. The second floor houses the first half of our print collection along with our Learning Commons study area. The lower level of the Library completes our print collection and functions as our quiet study area.

I love Ferrum College! I wanted to go to a small school that had faculty that I could actually approach. I got exactly what I asked for! Ferrum is in the middle of a rural area that is what it make of you. The students are friendly and the staff attempts to make everything the best it possibly can be. The only thing I did not like about it is that a handful of students that 1) were doing poorly with their coursework blamed the school and 2) students that were not accepted elsewhere would at times bash the school. Ferrum offers a great education, great environment and has consistently improved each year. Ferrum is a school on the rise. Take advantage.

I am going into my fifth and final year here at Ferrum College and have enjoyed everything about it. It's a beautiful campus, the faculty is very nice and you can get involved in groups and sports very easily. True, there is drinking, but you will find that at most schools, you just don't hear about it as easily as you do with a smaller school. I have made life long friends here and plan on returning for visits. Ferrum may seem like a small, farmers school, but it has a great education system and wonderful people. I like the fact that the teachers know my name and who my sister was when she attended here. This is a wonderful school and I love it here.
