The Lifecycle represents all activities typically involved in a research project. The activities may be programmatic (scientific) or administrative in nature, or both. They begin with forming a hypothesis or research question; conclude with final financial reports and scientific publications. In most cases, a new research project begins its Lifecycle based on a hypothesis or question developed from the results of a previous project.

I love the University of Washington. It's a huge school, which can be really intimidating, but there are tons of programs in place to make sure people adjust and have a good experience. I think the key to succeeding here is the ability to go out and have good experiences. You have to be willing to make individual choices and succeed by yourself. There is no one who is going to force you to do anything, but if you try even just a little you will find positive experiences.

UW is a renounced school. It was ranked 16th in the WORLD last year. You have a lot of resources here, however the class size can be scary your freshmen yr. The campus is beautiful and provides an excellent education.

As an in-state student, I could not have gotten a better education for my budget. I could have gone to a private university, but UW had everything I needed to learn what I wanted and more. It's the perfect place for a self-motivated person to go the distance.Then again, UW is a big place, so I saw a particular "slice" of it - I was an honors student at the computer science department. It was pretty obvious they don't treat all departments equally, so the quality of the school might vary depending on what you want to do-- I hope that changes in the future.

W-MBA program was a wonderful experience for me in so many ways. But I graduated in '81 so I am not sure my experience is so relevant now. The best advice given to me when there was to "get involved." I did, and it was very rewarding. UW is a great place to go to school. Seattle was a great town. The B-school was excellent. I would do it again without hesitation. The relatioships I made there have lasted for 30 years.

It's a very very very good school. Even in the big classes you don't feel like you're just a number. It's definitely challenging at times, but it's worth the effort. It is a great opportunity to learn.

I came to UW from southern California. I love everything about UW, for the most part. I've gotten lucky with my professors and classes--they've all been extremely knowledgeable and helpful. [I've taken a range, from chem to spanish to greek myth]. Anyone who says that they're are just a number here has not taken advantage of all the opportunities they could have. I'm a freshman and already doing neurobiology research and have found a great group of friends. The campus is gorgeous and, except for maybe the Ave at night, I feel completely safe. The greek life is pretty big here for parties, but after freshman year a lot of people move off campus, so there's tons of house parties. you don't need to greeks to get drunk! UW is an amazing school with amazing people, you just have to put in some effort and seek out opportunities.

We have a good time around here. For some people school comes before everything, but most don't always go to lecture and would rather get faded than study when given the option. There is a very large focus on greek life here. If you're a girl you don't have to join a house to join in on the fun. Boys on the other hand, should probably join a house if they want in on the party scene. There are lots of varying houses and every guy could probably find one he'd do well in. For out-of-state student be prepared to be surround be instaters, also be prepared for all their friends from high school.

There is no better school in so many ways than the University of Washington. The location is fantastic, the city vibrant, and the college culture very accepting. My professors were very helpful and nearly always available, despite larger numbers of students in classes than some other universities would be. My classes were mixed: some very large (800+) and some very small (3). I was able, through the cross-crediting programme, to complete 2 bachelors degrees with 3 majors and one minor. I have since completed a Masters abroad, and am working on a PhD abroad, too. I would HIGHLY recommend UW to anyone and everyone.
