Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University Scholarships

Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University administers various financial aid and scholarship schemes and programs. These schemes and programs are offered on merit and competitive bases to applicants to the university programs.  These schemes include:

HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Scholarships
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, scholarships will be awarded to 20 students who excelled in their high schools and who are interested in pursuing further university studies at HBMeU.

The 20 eligible students will be primarily selected based on their high school grades and meeting the entry requirements of HBMeU programs. Other terms and conditions may apply to the selection process.

Sheikha Shamsa Bint Suheil Chair in Business and Financial Studies

Shamsa Bint Suhail Chair in Business and Financial Studies has been established to award four scholarships in the e-school of Business and Quality Management to successful applicants as per the Chair criteria in accordance with the memorandum of understanding signed between Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University and Shamsa Bint Suhail Award for Creative Women.

The Scholarships are available to Qualified Arab applicants to undergraduate and postgraduate programs within in the e-school of Business and Quality Management.  The main criteria for this financial aid are the financial needs and meeting the program entry requirements.  Other terms and conditions apply to the selection process.

Tuition Remission

Undergraduate
New officially admitted learners to the undergraduate programs and who have completed their high school certificate and demonstrated academic excellence by achieving a minimum grade point average of 90% are entitled to a tuition remission of 20% of the tuition fee of the program for the first semester they are enrolled in.

A continuing full-time undergraduate learner who achieves a minimum GPA of 3.60 out of 4.00 in a given semester where the academic load is 12 C/Hrs minimum, is entitled to a tuition remission of 15% of the tuition fees for the following semester he/she will enrol in.

Postgraduate
New officially admitted learners to the postgraduate programs who demonstrate academic excellence in graduate studies by achieving a minimum cumulative grade average of 3.60 out of 4.00 or its equivalent are entitled to the tuition remission of 20% of the registration fees for the first semester he/she is enrolled in.

A continuing full-time post Postgraduate learner who achieves a minimum GPA of 3.70 out of 4.00 in a given semester where the academic load is 9 C/Hrs minimum is entitled to a tuition remission of 15% of the tuition fees for the following semester he/she will enrol.

Lifelong Learning Discount

Learners, who enrol in any program or offering of HBMeU, are granted a 10% discount in all their successive enrolments in different programs at HBMeU as per the 4C’s model. Concentrated learners must meet the satisfactory progress requirement; if this learner has received an academic warning, the discount will be automatically discontinued; should he/she remove the academic warning in the next semester, he /she will benefit from the discount for the following semester.

Staff and Staff Relative Discount

Full-time staff of Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University, who spent more than one year of continuous service, shall be entitled to 20% discount, as long as the full-time staff is employed at HBMeU, and meets the satisfactory academic progress requirements; if this staff/learner has received an academic warning, the discount will be automatically discontinued; should he/she remove the academic warning in the next semester, he /she will benefit from the discount for the following semester.

First degree relatives of a full-time staff of Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University who spent more than one year of continuous service shall be entitled 10% discount as long as the full-time staff is staff is employed at HBMeU, and the learner meets the satisfactory academic progress requirements; if this learner has received an academic warning, the discount will be automatically discontinued; should he/she remove the academic warning in the next semester, he /she will benefit from the discount for the following semester.

The financial aid shall be reassessed when one family member withdrew, is dismissed or graduated from the University; the financial aid shall be applied depending on the number of remaining learners and should be reviewed each semester.

In order to apply for financial aid or a scholarship, a learner must fill out a “Financial aid & Scholarship Application Form”, and submit it to the Registrar Office as per the application deadline published on the academic calendar.
