Qatar Academy is part of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, a private, chartered, non-profit organization founded on 1996. Qatar Academy (QA) is one of the Middle East’s premier educational institutions. QA is an International Baccalaureate World School also accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Council of International Schools. The school offers academic excellence through Primary, Middle Year and IB Diploma programs based on the principle that education involves the development of a student’s cognitive, physical, social, moral and affective capabilities.

A dynamic classroom curriculum combined with community and service programs, experiential education, and extra-curricular activities enables students to participate in and reflect on the educational journey from preschool through the university admissions process. Students are a respected part of the learning process shared with parents and teachers. They are encouraged to be risk takers, unafraid to ask questions and confidently seek answers.

QA students have unique opportunities to travel, study and participate in sports throughout the Middle East region and all over the world. Locally, Senior School students participate in and help organize the THIMUN Qatar Conference and Film Festival. Primary School students spend nearly a week each year off-site at QA's School Without Walls facility located along the coast of the Arabian Sea. Students also travel the globe, rock climbing in France, learning about human ingenuity at Space Camp in Turkey, visiting art museums in Italy, and performing community and service in Vietnam. Qatar Academy does not just educate. QA prepares students for work, life and leadership in their own communities and society at large.

We provide the same quality of education for children of all ages, starting with our youngest students in the Early Education Center which uses the Creative Curriculum, a play-based approach where children are active participants and co-constructors in their learning. This blends seamlessly into the three programs of the International Baccalaureate – the Primary Years, the Middle Years and the Diploma Programs. These strong educational programs are united through the Learner Profile and by the fact that they encourage the students to take the lead in their learning and to think for themselves.

Our curricula are enriched by strong Arabic and Islamic Studies teaching. Our Arabic speaking students are able to deepen their understanding of the heritage of the country through the study of Qatar History. The blend of English and Arabic studies ensures that our students are fully prepared for immersion in their communities, while being confident to study and work overseas.

Our experienced international and local faculty provide wonderful encouragement and support to our students, enabling them to enrich their knowledge and understanding. A wide variety of extra-curricular activities broaden the learning experience of so many students as they represent the school in sport, academic games, international competitions, the model United Nations etc. We are proud of the way our students have represented our school and the country.
