The American Baccalaureate School opened its doors in September 2006 to 550 students. We now have over 1,300 students enrolled from pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. We are a private, non-profit school offering an American-based curriculum including a wide variety of advanced courses, and a college preparatory program, guiding students to become independent, intellectual global citizens. It is our goal to develop responsible and accountable young adults who are prepared for the challenges of international universities.
Here at ABS, we believe in teamwork. Innovative learning is encouraged in the classroom, as well as professional development and collaborative thinking at the teacher level. This is part of the teaching process and has helped many teachers succeed and grow. We partner with and include various school programs such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and UNESCO where students can participate in various activities. ABS has shaped the right conditions, policies, and procedures for all the stakeholders to learn, work and succeed.
Finally, as we all look forward to the continued impact that American Baccalaureate School will have, We hope that ABS will keep glowing and growing as they continue to be a positive and constant progress in the school culture and community here in Kuwait.
A wide variety of activities and annual events are offered to ABS Students. Character education, swimming, football, basketball, student council, MUN, school yearbook, National Honor Society, are just some of the activities offered. Annual events and special activities include overseas Ski and Cultural trips, the Annual Charity Carnival, and the Talent Show.
Professional activities have been incorporated into every field, and we put great emphasis upon building teachers’ skills to continue to develop their level of performance in the classroom which, in turn, gives students a wonderful learning environment full of engagement and meaningful work.
Throughout the school year, we are continuing to build on and refine our solid foundation by having even more extracurricular activities and advanced professional development workshops to encourage our students to become more involved with school life.
