Community Engagement and Volunteerism
The aim of this course is to introduce participants to the concepts of community engagement and volunteerism and to provide information and examples of good practice directly relevant to their own roles. It is designed for volunteers who want to learn new skills or update their current skills, and teach them how to work effectively in the organization of their choice.
This course is recommended for front line staff and managers seeking comprehensive training in community engagement and volunteerism. It is also beneficial for social work practitioners, and service men and women who play leading roles in their organizations and communities.
At the completion of this course participants will be able to understand the purpose of engagement, identify stakeholders, and apply tools of engagement. Understand the role of an effective volunteer, how to develop work priorities, engage and create successful interventions and lasting, sustainable results.
