Director - Data Security & Privacy Management

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to establish and maintain organization wide, Data Security program governance with the purpose of complying with data security and customer privacy regulations impacting business propositions, marketing, campaigns and data analytics. Governing business demands, and Security requirements in alignment with Legal and regulatory teams to enable business requirements and implementation of secure data access, and sharing.

Responsible for definition and development of business process, policies related to controlling access to data ,data classification, data quality and data life cycle management. Responsible for the creation of overall Data Protection strategies and implementation plans addressing data risks. Interface with operation and business functions to ensure the right measures are in place and policies are adhered to data access and its protection.

Education & Experience

• At least 5-7 years of technical experience working with cyber-security and information security risks and control.
• At least 2 years’ experience with data loss security tools.
• At least 2 years of data analytics and reporting.
• At least 2 years’ experience working with DLP technology and data security
• Demonstration of interaction and influence at Senior management level
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, ability to multi-task and communicate under stress with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Exposure to various markets with regional experience preferable.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
• International Security Certifications (CISSP, CCSK, MCSE / CCNA certification preferred)

Required Skills

• Strong numerical and data analytical skills including associated tools like Excel, Access DWH. Data cruncher and excel modeling understanding
• Proven experience of developing and evolving data privacy and data security strategies and requirements.
• Demonstration of strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience in managing data privacy improvement initiatives at corporate level.
• Excellent working knowledge of UAE and regional and international regulatory and legislative requirements for data security & privacy.
• Capability to influence others based on content understanding, analytics and an ability to take a wider view of the context of the situation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level personal drive, motivation and initiative
• Track record of delivery within the high change environment
• Experience in working with managing multinational teams, ideally within the GCC
• Highly organised, with a flexible approach to work.
