Colmore Infant & Nursery School opened in 1909 and has successfully educated children for over a century within the Kings Heath community. Many of the children that attend our school have followed in their parent's and grandparent's footsteps. This strong community support continues at Colmore today.
The school’s reputation for maintaining high standards within a nurturing environment, alongside doing the ‘fun’ things well - like promoting creativity and inquiry make us a popular choice locally. We also value the importance of each child’s health and well-being in terms of their physical health, emotional health and by promoting healthy eating.
Whilst our school continues to grow and change as the community grows and changes the staff and other stakeholders continue to strive to provide the very best education for each and every child that we can whilst holding firm in the knowledge that we are, ‘Outstanding but not perfect’. We are always on a journey of continual improvement. It is right in our infant and nursery school that our curriculum extends beyond the academic, and provides for learners’ broader development, enabling them to discover and develop their interests and talents and expertise.
We remain committed to developing our children as well rounded individuals who become sought after by our local secondary school and highly employable young adults in the future. Most importantly we want our children to be happy and develop a real love of learning. We know that academic success relies on children being happy and confident.
