Reception Class Places September:
Please go to the Birmingham City Council website to read up on admissions arrangements for September.
- Primary school places, including those for Colmore Infant and Nursery Reception classes, will be offered on Thursday 16th April from 4pm onwards via email from Birmingham City Council.
- The email you receive will name the school your child has been offered for September.
- Families who have completed and submitted an on time online application will be sent an email informing them which school has been offered to their child. Emails will be sent on Thursday 16 April and the council expect that emails will be received by 4pm – the exact time will depend on a number of variables including email service providers. Families will also receive their child’s offer by letter which will be posted first class on Wednesday 15 April.
- Please do not contact Birmingham City Council before you have received the offer of a school place.
- Due to the current coronavirus outbreak and the impact on Birmingham schools, you will only need to inform Birmingham City Council by 30 April if you are refusing this offer.
- Colmore Infant and Nursery School will not be able to tell you if you have a place if you phone school. This information will come directly from the local authority. We will however contact you via a phone call after Friday 17th April to check whether you have had a confirmation email from Birmingham City Council confirming that your child has a reception place. The purpose of the phone call will be to gain some initial information about your child for our 'I'M ACE - All about ME' books.
- If you do not receive an offer of a place at your higher preference school, which might include Colmore Infant and Nursery School, your child’s name will automatically be placed on the waiting list by the city council. After 30th April we will have confirmation of all 120 places for September once the local authority has heard about any families who have potentially rejected places.
Once again we would recommend that you check your emails after 4pm on Thursday 16th April and also go to the link provided if you need any further information regarding school admissions for September.
