UWC is a global education movement that makes education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. Today, UWC comprises schools and colleges in 18 countries and regions, as well as national committees and selection contacts in more than155 countries. The UWC movement also consists of more than 60,000 alumni and other members in virtually every country in the world. UWC is governed by the UWC International Board and UWC International Council. The executive arm of the UWC International Board is the UWC International Office, based in London.
To be a transformational IB school with a learning community rooted in compassionate action. We view the understanding of our minds, our bodies, and our emotions as a key life skill; fostering the development of our students by tending to both intrapersonal awareness and interpersonal sensitivity in order to create a positive and international school culture. Our aim is to cultivate genuine happiness. In an increasingly interdependent world, we treat others and the planet with respect, kindness and consideration, helping even in the smallest of ways.
The global mission of the United World College movement is to make education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. At UWC Thailand, we aim to realise this mission by delivering a mindful, diverse education underpinned by our belief in the connection between a “Good Heart, Balanced Mind, and Healthy Body”. We utilise the International Baccalaureate curriculum as our academic foundation and employ world-class teachers to create an exceptional learning community.
Underpinning the IB framework, all UWC schools also share a common mission and set of values – at the centre of which is the creation of a deliberately diverse community. Learning in a diverse community helps create opportunities for students to appreciate multiple perspectives, to understand the power of collaboration and communication in all its forms, and to experience first-hand that our similarities far outweigh our differences.
In addition, UWC Thailand is considered UWC’s pioneer in embedding Social-Emotional Learning and Mindfulness (SEL&M) into our curriculum. Under the direction of our Mindfulness Mentor, our staff, students, and parents develop their ability to think and act mindfully using time and strategies inside and outside the classroom.
Our outlines the educational model at UWC Thailand, which balances five core areas of focus. We feel the synergies between this model and the IB curriculum help us to curate a robust yet flexible educational journey for our students. By fostering our students’ own desire for life-long learning and equipping them with a set of tools they can use to grow and succeed, UWC Thailand empowers students in order to tap into their greatest potential.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
What a pinch me moment to live on a tropical island and have our children go to such a diverse, warm, fun, kind and rewarding school. Lovely campus, super outdoor program, fabulous teaching staff and excited our children will have a unique education and friends from all around the world for life. Same goes for the grown ups too. Feel incredibly lucky to have found such a wonderful school.

Close-knit community, very responsive parent group, well-rounded education, global outlook and yet it is one of not-for-profit IB continuum schools in Thailand(only two if I’m not wrong)

My granddaughters attend UWCT. The teaching is superb and the experiential learning and outdoor education lead to appreciation of the environ and deep understanding. If you want kids to live learning and to be excited about school, this is the place for them. The art and music programs are first rate too.

We came here from Bali and was sure to enrol our then 6 year old boy in the British curriculum school, but after our school visit we were impressed with the open and friendly atmosphere at UWCT. It’s been 2.5 years and we have no regrets, the teachers are amazing, there is a sense of community which you will find no where else and above all kindness towards being different. We are very happy with the education and facilities.

We moved to Phuket from Australia and initially education was a concern for us. Imagine our delight when we found UWC Thailand that offers end-to-end IB curriculum starting from PYP all the way to DP program, offers mindfulness as an integral part, shares great sporting facilities with world-class sports resort and is located next to a national park offering healthy learning conditions and access to pretty much wild nature at school's doorsteps. Strong community support, focus on life-learning balance so to speak, makes kids genuinely happy there.
Year later, we are really reluctant to move anywhere away from Phuket because of what this school offers. It'd be really hard to match it elsewhere. Maybe only another UWC! :)

Wonderful school with so much space for my children to run around. I'm so glad we found UWC because it is a school which builds global citizens and teaches the children the consequences of their actions and the effect on the future of the world.

In my opinion, UWC Thailand offers a full and well rounded IB experience for my children G11 and G8. For me life is not all academics, although they are both doing well. Life is having the opportunity meet challengers and diversity, accept differences and seek solutions. UWC Thailand is our home and we are proud of it!

As a newly arrived family to Phuket we could not have asked for a warmer welcome than which we received from the UWCT community. We moved from Hong Kong for a better quality quieter life. The kids have settled in amazingly quickly thanks to the friendliness of everyone at the school and a curriculum that does not focus just on academics but the child as a whole. I have seen an increase in confidence with both of them G9 and G6. The school community has been very helpful answering any questions however small we may have we are very glad we chose to move and join UWCT community.

By far, THE most amazed by a school I have even been. And I know. As a child and teen, I attended 14 different school. And since moving overseas, my children have been to 3 international schools. My children are blossoming academically, socially and becoming independent
