Job Summary
- Analyse core & transport network performance for end to end core & transport network domains on a regular basis.
- Perform routine (Pro-active, Reactive) Audits to highlight key performance & capacity issues
- Propose Recommendations (Parameters / Timers, Features, Upgrades, ) for performance improvements in specified core & transport network domains.
- Work closely with other domains’ Optimization members to identify issues & suggest improvement actions
- Work closely with Planning / Project teams (of specified domains) to ensure rollouts / expansions / upgrades / swaps / trials are well managed and do not adversely affect the core & transport network performance.
- Follow up / Benchmark improvement / degradation as a result of proposed recommendations.
- Support Analyses of key Trials / Features / Functionality in specified core & transport network domains
- Support in Special Event’s Preparation & Analyses (e.g. Ramadan, Hajj etc.) to ensure that the core & transport network is capable of handling the demand and that the customer is provided with seamless quality of services.
- Work with performance & operation teams for specific analyses (when required) especially pertaining to a widespread / severe issue or an issue which affects KPI’s (for specified domains).
- Perform other duties as required by higher levels of supervision.
Skills
- Good understanding of protocols & Network Architectures related to Mobile network (PC, CS, transport, MW, Radio)
- Good understanding & ability to apply OSI Model, Use ITU-T, ETSI, 3GPP, IETF standards & recommendations
- Experience in CEM, network service quality measurement & reporting of all the mentioned domain
- Associate level in the use of Software & Applications (esp. Databases), OSS / NMS Applications, Trace / Probing tools for purposes of Analyses & Troubleshooting
- Formal Certifications in PS Core, Transport & transmission would be added advantage
- Working experience in at least 70% of below domain is required
- PS/CS Core : Huawei & Ericsson
- Transport IP : Huawei, ALU, Ericsson
- Microwave: Ericsson, Huawei, ALU
- Probe Solution : Anritsu (CS), Smart Care Huawei (PS)
- OSS/PM Tools: ENIQ, NetAct,U2000,Cacti
- Other Tools: Wireshark, MS Office.
Education
Bachelor or Masters of Engineering / Science (BSc, BE or MSc, ME) in Electrical / Telecommunications
