Job Summary

The role holder is responsible for driving business strategy, policies and guidelines related to Consumer RA and supporting RA & FM practices to ensure alignment and compliance with strategy and objectives. The role holder is also responsible for driving the framework that governs the Consumer RA practices and ensure integrity of financial data. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development and implementation of the Revenue Assurance & Fraud Management General Directorate plans.
  • Directs and manages the Consumer RA department mandates, providing leadership and facilitating work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.
  • Manages and controls change in the Consumer RA department providing guidance and support, necessary for continuous improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures and quality standards in the Consumer RA department.

Core Responsibilities

Consumer Revenue Assurance

  • Drives the framework that governs the Consumer Revenue Assurance practices, policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the process of measuring achieved revenue against forecasts, and accounting for any discrepancies.
  • Drives the company profitability by minimizing the revenue leakage, optimizing the costs and increasing the recovered revenue.
  • Drives Consumer RA activities in each region in order to ensure integrity of financial data with rules and regulations at all levels.
  • Ascertains compliance with approved Consumer RA policies and procedures as assurance for top management that any variance is insignificant or commercially justified.
  • Ensures the production of monthly and annual reports about Consumer RA and highlight any variations with reasons to brief Top Management on scope limitations.
  • Monitors regularly the urgencies to change operational business processes and systems to minimize the risks and potential exposure to revenue leakage.
  • Implements latest Consumer RA methodologies/developments and systems used in the telecom industry, lead the development of in-house tools and system that would minimize the risks and potential exposure to revenue leakage.
  • Focuses on each of these areas (Product, Rating, Billing, Collection, and Conveyance etc.) in order to detect the leakage, correct or fix the issue and ensure that changes are made to prevent that same issue from occurring in future.
  • Ensures regular sanity checks are maintained on subset of services, focusing on main revenue generating services.
  • Make recommendations for revenue improvements based on periodic review of tariff’s, revenue streams and free offerings.
  • Ensures proper tariffs are used for all services provided by STC and that there is a match between the tariffs used and the billing charged to customers.
  • Ensure promotional tariffs applied are in accordance to approvals and within the approved promotional period and discontinued when not applicable
  • Review interconnection usage settlements are in order for national, international, roaming, etc.
  • Be alert and open to new fraud and revenue leakage methodologies/developments in the industry and ensure measures are taken to prevent such occurrences in STC.

People Management Responsibilities

  • Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team and ensures effective application of the STC performance management process.
  • Directs planning and selection of manpower in the Consumer RA department, in line with the business and operational plans.
  • Ensures high level of employee engagement and capability development by providing on-going feedback and coaching team members within the Consumer RA department.
  • Performs other responsibilities and tasks as directed by the General Manager – Revenue Assurance & Fraud Management in order to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Finance or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as GRAPA, eTOM, TMFORUM preferred.

Years of Experience

A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with at least 3-4 years working in Telecom industry.

Nature of Experience

  • Prior experience in Information Technology, Finance, Telecom Engineering including business analysis skills and data mining , Business processes modelling and system architecture.
  • Prior experience within the KSA region and/or the Middle East region including knowledge of regulatory environment and context is preferred.

Desired Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Good understanding of telecommunications industry.
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills including conflict resolution skills.
  • Principles of financial management and analysis, including an understanding of key profitability metrics and ratios, revenue indicators, etc.
  • Knowledge of internationally accepted relevant accounting standards of US GAAP, IFRS and IAS.
  • Working knowledge of Revenue Assurance management concepts.
