St Euphemia College is an independent school operating under the auspices of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia. The school pursues the objectives, processes and outcomes of education as stated by the NSW Board of Studies. English is the medium of instruction and courses are offered in all Key Learning Areas of primary and secondary education.
The school is a community of staff, students and parents who work collaboratively to foster growth and personal well being where every student can “Strive for Excellence”. The primary school caters for students from Prep to Year 6 and offers a stimulating and exciting curriculum. Students experience a wide range of enjoyable activities which enable them to discover and develop their potential in all areas - spiritual, academic, creative, cultural and in sport.
Social and moral development is nurtured and care is taken to create a warm and supportive environment. In addition to the mainstream classroom teachers, the staff includes a librarian, a School Counsellor, an IT teacher and specialist teachers in Greek and Music.
St. Euphemia College was founded as a co-educational school in February 1989 from a small beginning of just two classes and two teachers. We have grown to a regional Prep-12 school of over 680 students.
The St Euphemia curriculum is designed to cater for students intending to progress to tertiary education. It is based on the vision that its students have the ability and desire to be challenged through a broad education and a stimulating, supportive and competitive environment.
A firm foundation is provided in the main subjects, with students being encouraged to learn by discovery and exploration and to develop thinking skills and strategies which will facilitate their learning as they progress through school.
