Welcome to St. Pius X Catholic High School, home of the Golden Lions! As you become familiar with our school through this site, we hope you will acquire a strong sense of our school’s unique mission. St. Pius X is currently celebrating 60 years of educating young men and women for the Lord. Today, our school has nearly 1,100 well-rounded students, more than 130 faculty members (80 percent of whom have advanced degrees), and thousands of alumni and supporters.

Our mission is to provide a college preparatory education for the formation of the mind, body, and spirit of each student in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church. From our rich Catholic traditions, outstanding academics, award-winning fine arts, and nationally recognized athletic program, you will find a school dedicated to young people and creating a firm foundation for our students’ futures.

Our motto at St. Pius X is “Domini Sumus” – “We are the Lord’s.” It is from this central belief that our school thrives and has created a strong sense of family. St. Pius X, an archdiocesan high school, provides a college preparatory education for the formation of the mind, body and spirit of each student in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church. To form students of strong character and deep faith who complete college, serve others, and participate actively in the life of the Church.

Supernatural Vision: We foster the growth of good human beings who love God and neighbor and thus achieve their eternal destiny of heaven through the teachings of the Catholic Church. Centrality of Christ: We are founded on Jesus Christ the Redeemer who, through His Incarnation, is united with each person and is both the model and means for personal holiness. Community: We are a community of persons bound by the Catholic Faith who recognize our school as an extension of the intimate atmosphere of family life.

Integral Education: We aim to develop the intellectual, physical, psychological, moral and religious capabilities of every student. Truth: We seek to teach not merely knowledge but understanding, wisdom and truth. Human beings can grasp the truth of things, and in grasping that truth can know their duties to God, themselves, and their neighbors.

The academic program at St. Pius X seeks to meet the needs of all students. Through the testing program, counselor and teacher recommendations and consultation with parents, students are placed in courses which take into consideration the course objectives and goals as well as the aspirations, academic skills, and emotional maturity of the student.

Academic departments generally offer courses on three levels: AP- Advanced Placement, H- Honors, and CP- College Preparatory. Students are not placed in the same level in all subject areas. They are placed in different levels depending on their aptitude and performance in the various disciplines.

The College Prep courses at St. Pius X are rigorous programs of study which prepare the students for the demands of competitive colleges. College Prep courses accommodate student learning styles by using two teaching formats. Some College Prep courses require greater independence and more long term assignments. Others are more structured with daily homework assignments, frequent quizzes and long term projects broken into several steps. It should be noted that most of these classes use the same textbook as other level classes.

Honors and Advanced Placement courses are filled by invitation only and are designed to meet the needs of students who have a high level of responsibility, who are capable of independent work, and who possess highly-developed thinking skills. Students enrolled in these courses who do not continue to demonstrate these qualities will have their invitations withdrawn.

FAITH - FAMILY - FUTURES, These are three pillars that the students and faculty exhibit at St. Pius X Catholic High School. We are founded in faith. Our Catholic faith is celebrated and has a strong identity that brings our students and faculty together. We have a family atmosphere. Our students and faculty truly care about one another. We have a joyful attitude called the Pius "pride". If you come to an event on campus, you will see our pride in action. We are focused on futures. Our goal is to provide a college preparatory education for the formation of the mind, body, and spirit of each student. We strive to lead our students into college and heaven.
