Access Infrastructure Strategic Planning Section Manager

Job Summary

The role holder is responsible for Managing the top-down development of an integrated, coherent and business-aligned Strategic Plan for Access Infrastructure, with a clear identification of key enablers and strategic initiatives required to meet the medium/long-term needs of the business and optimally integrating individual bottom-up Sectors’ priorities & plans.

Key Responsibilities

Managerial Responsibilities

• Participates in the development and implementation of the Strategic Planning plans, in line with the corporate objectives.
• Directs and manages the Access Infrastructure Strategic Planning Section mandates, providing leadership and facilitating work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.
• Interprets and implements change in Access Infrastructure Strategic Planning Section providing guidance and support, necessary for continuous improvement.
• Ensures compliance with organizational policies, procedures and quality standards in the Access Infrastructure Strategic Planning Section.

Core Responsibilities

Access Infrastructure Planning

• Ensure review and discuss Infrastructure sector their business and technology priorities.
• Identify and develop the strategic imperatives for the infrastructure sector in close coordination with Infrastructure planning GD.
• Review the Infrastructure strategic plans to ensure alignment with overall strategic planning guidelines and priorities.

Access Infrastructure Operations

• Review full list of Infrastructure projects in progress and planned for implementation identifying main interdependencies with Technology Strategy and Roadmap and providing direction on project prioritization in collaboration with Applications and Finance.
• Collate projects from the Infrastructure sector and ensure alignment of priorities and synchronization with Application sector strategic plans.
• Support the development of an integrated 3-year Access Infrastructure Strategic Plan covering all aspects including the Technology, Operations and Organization.
• Conduct periodic reviews of Infrastructure projects and Identify all deviations in the sector Strategic Plan and assign responsibility for remediation to respective owners on a regular basis

Communication & Coordination

Coordinate, collate and consolidate information on the different projects to be undertaken by the Infrastructure sector as part of their Fundamental / Annual deployment plans and support in prioritization of the projects in line with the business imperatives. In collaboration with Strategy and Finance, ensure implementation of key guidelines and principles to be followed in the development of individual Sectors’ strategic plans in order to ensure consistency and facilitate integration into overall Tech & Ops planning

People Management Responsibilities

• Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team and ensures effective application of the STC performance management process.
• Directs planning and selection of manpower in the Access Infrastructure Strategic Planning Section, in line with the business and operational plans.
• Ensures high level of employee engagement and capability development by providing on-going feedback and coaching team members within the Access Infrastructure Strategic Planning Section.

Qualifications/Certification

• Master’s degree in Business Administration (specializing in Systems) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical / Telecom sciences
• Relevant professional certifications such as CTP, CFA, SOCPA, ACA, CIMA or ACCA preferred.

Required Experience

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
