Job Summary
The Elementary teacher provides a positive, caring environment conducive for the development of the skills, attitudes and dispositions reflected in our learner profile and supports the learning of students across all developmental areas. The Elementary teacher is a positive role model and sets an example of high moral, ethical and professional standards. The Elementary teacher is working to achieve the school’s mission and goals as well as uphold the policies and procedures of Riffa Views International School. The Elementary teacher will communicate on a professional level with all RVIS stakeholders and maintain appropriate collegial relationships with the faculty, staff and administration.

General Responsibilities
- The teacher will offer a comprehensive, personalized Elementary Education program that promotes the development of key learning skills. The teacher will assess and report the development of these skills utilizing developmental continuums and standardized based reports appropriate for this age level.
- The teacher will assist students in developing the skills for goal setting, self-assessment on learner profiles, evaluative portfolio and student-led conference preparation.
- In support of the RVIS promise of personalization, the teacher will develop a positive classroom culture characterized by high expectations for all students and establish a classroom environment that is safe, whereby learning is accessible to all students.
- The teacher will support the After School Activities program by offering sessions to students.
- The teacher will participate enthusiastically in special events throughout the year.
- The teacher will communicate frequently with families and successfully engage them in the instructional program. Information to families about individual students will be conveyed in a culturally appropriate manner.
- The teacher will participate actively in professional learning and in school events and projects, and maintain positive, productive, and collaborative relationships with colleagues.
