• Serves the whole child, acknowledging that a student’s physical, social and emotional well-being relates to learning.
• Is committed to best practices as in brain-based learning, integrated and thematic instruction.
• Is committed to character education.
• Designs lesson plans based on standards and benchmarks.
• Designs a curriculum, which takes into account the developmental levels of the children.
• Engages children in problem solving, working cooperatively in groups, interacting with the community, appreciating diversity, and learning through service.
• Instills confidence and adaptability in students to explore new roles, ideas and strategies.
• Encourages students to be self-motivated, work independently, and maintain a sense of wonder and love of learning.
• Establishes and models high expectations for students’ achievement and behaviour.
• Helps students continuously assess their progress and consider feedback as part of the learning process.
• Links assessment directly to instruction.
• Creates a vital relationship with parents.
• Participates in the Outdoor Education Program. This program involves teachers staying up to one week or more away from campus.
• Attends meetings and duties as assigned by Principal.
• Participates in advisory and extra-curricular activity in addition to teaching assignments.
• Helps students continuously assess their progress and consider feedback as part of the learning process.
• Attends and participates in school events on the request of the administration.
• Directs after-school productions through the Middle School after School Activities.

Requirements

Bachelor Degree in a related field of study.
