University is pointing to recruit an internationally recognised and inspiring academic leader of WACPRU, who will contribute to the future of cancer prevention. You will be responsible for:
- Producing internationally significant research outputs in high quality journals, and at national and international conferences
- Leading competitive funding initiatives for research projects
- Building professional linkages and relationships with universities, industry and government entities to effect evidence-based change at national and international level
- Fostering a culture of excellence and providing leadership
- Delivering high quality mentoring and supervision to postgraduate, honours, and undergraduate students
You will bring to the role
- A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline, such as psychology
- Demonstrated leadership of research activity both within and across groups in academia and not for profit organisations, for example Cancer Council
- An outstanding on-going record of publication in high quality peer-reviewed journals
- Evidence of a world-class research record, established international reputation and profile, significant citation indices or equivalent esteem measures
- A commitment to conducting on-going research in cancer prevention
- An outstanding record of obtaining research income, including nationally and internationally competitive research grants and/or fellowships
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring of academic staff, and extensive experience of successful supervision of research degree students
- High level communication and interpersonal skills
