Instructor, Business Analytics Program

Job Summary

BCIT’s School of Business requires one temporary, part-time (0.37 FTE) Instructor for our winter term for up to 3 months at our downtown campus in Vancouver to deliver training in our Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics program. This contract includes instructional responsibilities such as: teaching provincial curriculum; short-term coverage for full-time Instructor release; preparing and presenting classroom lectures, course delivery and assessment materials; providing practical demonstrations; and working collaboratively within our Business Analytics team and with the Program Head.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Business Analytics, Business Intelligence or related Data Science and/or Decision Support Science degree.
• Professional-level, current, subject matter expertise in business analytics.
• Three years during the past ten, of demonstrated success in a Business Analytics role in North America.
• Strong functional ability in MS Excel, including Power tools, Statistical Add-on packages, and related extensions.
• Documented experience working as an Instructor in a post-secondary or industrial setting within a team environment is an asset.
• Professional competence preparing, developing, delivering and administering post-secondary courses.
• Excellent English-language communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal and people-management skills
• Demonstrated ability to deliver in class and online learning in applied statistics, quantitative methodologies, and applied decision support tool sets.
• Ability to motivate adult learners to achieve academic success.
• An established network of relevant professional contacts.
