This is a full time leave replacement position teaching Math in the Upper School. A successful candidate will have experience teaching a full range of math classes as well as experience teaching a variety of ages and abilities. He/she will be expected to teach four classes at the following levels:
The candidate would also stand in to serve as the advisor for a group of about 8-10 students. We are looking for bright, energetic and creative candidates who are current with best practices in Mathematics Education with a focus on 21st-century learning skills. The department incorporates elements of the AP program as well as skills that lead to proficiency in math. All potential candidates must have a strong programmatic vision and be able to create structure and organization to deliver this vision.
Qualifications
An undergraduate degree in mathematics and/or education is required, a graduate degree in math or education is preferred. Successful teaching experience of at least three to five years is desired. Experience in independent schools with students in this age group is also important. A successful candidate must have strong organizational, time management and technical skills. We are looking for a candidate who is student-centered, but also excited to work with colleagues and the larger community.
