Professor Control and Cyber-Physical Systems

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced researcher & Professor with excellent scientific credentials and international visibility in one or more of the following research areas in the field of control engineering:

• Development of novel control methods, e.g., in the domain of model predictive control and fault-tolerant control
• Analysis and control of mechatronic and cyber physical systems
• Control under latency, bandwidth and capacity limitations (networked control)
• Analysis and control of multi-agent systems and spatially distributed systems (control of networked systems, cooperative control)
• Artificial intelligence in automation and control

Emphasis is put on engineering and technological research questions. The professorship should engage in interdisciplinary research collaboration with other groups in the department, within other departments and with research and industrial partners.

Qualification

An excellent doctorate degree, pedagogical and didactic skills as well as appropriate professional experiences  are required. Applicants are expected to participate in academic teaching concerning Bachelor and Master courses, especially in the specialization ‘Automation Technology’ in our master program and the ‘Mechatronics’ program respectively.

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology is one of the major leaders in research and teaching and is regularly ranked within the top German departments. The position is tenured with a remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications, following the German “W-Besoldung” and subject to negotiations between the applicant and the university directorate.
