Associate Professor in Energy Planning and Tool Development

Job Summary

The main research area will be energy planning with a focus on tool development of the energy systems analysis tool EnergyPLAN. The tool is used and developed within the context of Renewable Smart Energy Systems, and special attention is given to the use of advanced cross-sectoral hourly models and tools at the national and regional level. The applicants should demonstrate experience within the following areas:

• Programming with Windows Delphi-Pascal or similar.
• Development of hourly energy systems analysis tools such as EnergyPLAN.
• Use of energy systems analysis tools within the context of Renewable Smart Energy Systems.
• Cross-tool interfaces and collaborative development.
• Teaching will primarily be at the Danish bachelor’s programme “By-, Energi- og Miljøplanlægning”, the two English-language master programmes “Sustainable Energy Planning and Management” and “Sustainable Cities”, but also in other study programmes at the University. Experience with Problem Based Learning is an advantage.

Qualification requirements

The level of qualification for Associate Professors shall correspond to the level, which can be achieved on the basis of the appointment as Assistant Professor, but may be achievable in other ways. The appointment presupposes that the applicant can demonstrate original scientific production at an international level as well as documented teaching qualifications. Appointment to the position requires that both research and teaching qualifications are at the requested level. The two qualifications will be given equal and principal priority in the overall assessment.
