Subject description
The subject comprises experimental materials science, in particular synthesis and characterization of materials that can be nanostructured. Examples are superconducting or quantum materials, materials for neuromorphic computing, complex oxides, wide-bandgap semiconductors, or organic-inorganic hybrid materials.
Work duties

- Teaching in the first, second and third cycles of studies
- Supervision of degree projects and doctoral students
- Actively seeking external research funding
- Collaboration with industry and wider society
- Administration related to the work duties listed above
Qualification requirements
Appointment as a professor requires that the applicant has:
- Demonstrated research expertise.
- Demonstrated teaching expertise.
- Completed at least five weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning, or acquired equivalent knowledge by other means, unless there are valid reasons.
Additional requirements
- Very good oral and written proficiency in English.
- Proven ability to lead and develop research activities, including attracting external funding.
- A profile commensurate with a future leadership role within NanoLund and/or LINXS.
- The application must include a description of a longterm vision for how the applicant will contribute new materials to NanoLund, and how these can be used for basic or applied science, in particular in synergy with NanoLund’s existing core competence in nanostructures based on group III-V materials.
