A world-class, holistic education from Preschool to Year 13 that supports students to strive towards personal and academic success, in a nurturing and respectful environment. ACG Strathallan is proud to recently be ranked South Auckland’s top academic school and have all of our students achieve 100% A Level pass rate in the Cambridge exams. But there is much more to us than just academics.

In our stimulating, positive learning environments, our teachers steer students towards personal fulfillment and success by encouraging curiosity and questioning. This helps students understand and have a ‘light bulb’ moment in the learning space which can then be applied in and out of the classroom.

As students progress through each year, our teachers ensure they’re supported to take on the appropriate level of responsibility and autonomy. This means younger students are given the support they need to grow and accelerate, and our senior students are equipped for a global world.

With a purpose-built, creative and stimulating play and learning area, our infant preschool caters for children from three months to two years. To maintain our high level of quality, care and attention, we have a staff ratio of one teacher to four children.Young children are now encouraged to play, think, experiment, develop self-expression and curiosity. Language skills are developed alongside social skills. Our teachers are highly dedicated and we maintain a strict ratio of one staff member to nine children.

Just as all children develop differently, it’s important to know if your child is ready for school. During this year, teachers prepare children with a range of activities to be ready for ‘big school’.

With the benefit of the same strict ratio of one teacher to nine children, ACG Strathallan’s senior preschool prepares five-year-olds for more formal schooling, while still offering opportunities for self-expression and personal development.

Our focus is on creating an exceptional learning environment where children grow and thrive. Your child’s development will be supported by excellent facilities, high-quality teachers and a world-class curriculum.

Academic and social skills are carefully nurtured and stretched by passionate, caring teachers. In new entrant and Year 1, classes are limited to a maximum of 20 students. This gives teachers time to help each child extend their learning in the crucial first years of school.

We have a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, which are taught alongside specialist subjects like languages, music, art, physical education and science. It’s about providing a holistic approach to education, which develops a range of skills and a life-long passion for learning.

Our primary school’s facilities are designed to help our students develop intellectually, socially and physically. Classrooms are clustered around spacious, sociable atriums, and children can play sports or hold performances in the large hall.

Our grounds are also well equipped for specialist learning; we have resource rooms, a library, a modern computer lab, and fit-for-purpose rooms for science, art and music. We know outdoor activities, play and exercise is all part of a well-rounded education. The primary school has its own junior and senior adventure playgrounds and extensive fields for team games and other physical activities.

At ACG Strathallan college, students have access to outstanding facilities, high-quality teachers, an international academic curriculum, and a pastoral care programme that ensures personalised attention.

We are committed to the development of the whole student, and encourage them to engage with school life. Students are offered the chance to participate in a diverse range of academic, sporting, cultural and co-curricular pursuits. With these opportunities they are able to explore and grow into their own learning journey. With pastoral care alongside, students are elevated to do their best.We provide a future focused, comprehensive education to inspire and encourage students to reach their full potential and goals.

The subjects your child is offered in Years 7 to 10 make up a rich, well-balanced curriculum designed to stimulate technological and high-order thinking. The programme includes English, Spanish, Mandarin, Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Art and Design, Music, Physical Education, Health, Drama, and IT – including design and computer coding.

Most subjects in Years 11 to 13 build on the skills and knowledge your child has developed earlier in their schooling, giving them a greater depth of understanding. Other subjects will give your child the opportunity to explore new areas of study and acquire new skills.

Junior college students take a balanced course of compulsory academic disciplines. With a strong emphasis on numeracy and literacy – including 40% of class time devoted to English and Mathematics – this gives students a solid foundation for successful future study.

English, Mathematics and Science courses provide students in Years 7 to 9 with a seamless transition between the Cambridge International Primary Programme and the Cambridge International Examinations. At Year 10, students have the opportunity to take advanced classes in Mathematics, Combined Science and Global Perspectives at IGCSE level.

Senior college students in Years 11 to 13 can choose from a range of subjects designed to prepare them effectively for university study and a future career. Some subjects will build on their knowledge and hone existing skills, while others will open new areas of study and establish a range of new skills and interest.
