JubiLights Weekday Program staff shares in the vision to provide a place of learning that nurtures each child's uniqueness while also teaching them how to care for others as well as the world around them.
We believe we can do this by modeling Christ's love and character while engaging in learning methods that foster wholistic learning and problem solving.
JubiLights Weekday Program is governed by Jubilee Church's Elder Board and Pastoral Staff.
It is our belief that each child is a unique individual who needs to be valued as who they are. Also, we believe children learn through the people and environment around them.
We encourage each child to explore their environment and develop new skills through play and child-centered learning. We help children to love themselves and respect other people from the early age in order to promote a positive interaction with the peers as well as the teachers.
It is our goal to provide an atmosphere where each child feels safe and accepted the way God has created them. We strive to provide a high quality care by focusing on discovering the children’s strengths and involving family in their learning.
We incorporate Mother Goose Time curriculum into our circle times. Mother Goose Time is an early learners curriculum that invites children to experience their surrounding world through carefully researched themes that integrate a wide spectrum of learning concepts. Each thematic study is broken into 4 weeks, with each week focusing on a sub theme that ties to the larger theme. Also, every lesson comes with a creative craft that corresponds to the day's lesson. This curriculum allows the child to explore and integrate new information through inquiry and hands on experiences.
The Jubi-Kinders Class is designed to prepare children for first grade with all its new challenges and responsibilities with confidence. Children will learn to focus while developing their fluency in language and confidence in maths. We guide our students to be engaged in the classroom with the hope of them becoming responsible citizens and active participants in their communities. For that reason, we value emotional intelligence and responsibility as the main focus in teaching so that Kindergarteners learn how to share their feelings, understand the others’ perspectives, and take responsibility of their own action and decision.
For both literacy and numeracy education, we incorporate curriculum/teaching resources from McGraw Hill. We strive to provide our students with engaging and dynamic lessons, which encourage all students to explore, discover, and learn by inquiry and also from their mistakes. We differentiate teaching strategy and approach for every student according to their individual needs and strengths.
Our PTO holds monthly meetings on every 2nd Thursday of the month at 9:30am. All JP parents are invited to join as an automatic member of our PTO! Meetings include discussion on planning After School Activities, planning special event fundraisers and improving on JubiLights Weekday Program's overall.
