Welcome to Franciscan Foreign Kindergarten. You will discover that FFK is more than a school and in many ways a home away from home for our students, a place where they find a caring, stimulating environment where children are nurtured, stimulated, educated and given every opportunity to reach their full potential. It’s a place where our firm belief in your child’s abilities allows them to grow personally, socially and academically according to our core values of love, family, respect, safety and diversity. These values are reinforced through our program of differentiated, careful and creative instruction.

Our Play School (age 2) and Preschool (age 3) programs help the children to familiarize themselves with the world and attain basic skills that aid in the development of their autonomy and confidence. Students then progress to our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs where their learning and discovery continues with a greater focus on fundamental academic learning. Our students then graduate, feeling confident and prepared to enter elementary school with the knowledge and confidence to succeed in the rest of their learning journey.

We believe that our greatest resource is our children. This resource must be nurtured to ensure that they become confident global citizens equipped with the necessary skills needed to make their mark in a future that is better for all. This begins with a safe and inspiring learning environment where the teachers and staff are mentors and guides, with the understanding that every student is unique. Our small class sizes enable us to maintain a low teacher: student ratio to ensure that your child receives the care and attention they require to develop their life skills. FFK is a warm and caring environment where we encourage family and community engagement and educate children as a whole to be well-rounded individuals who may to soar to their highest potential.

FFK takes its name from the founder of the Franciscan Fathers, St. Francis. Francis was born in Assisi, Italy in 1182 into a rich family. In order to put his ideal of love into practice, he gave up everything he had to the poor and began his mission in an area which was very troubled by wars and poverty. The Franciscan Fathers have continued his mission down through the centuries and today they dedicate their work to alleviating the sufferings of the poor, to the missions, to the education of young people; especially the little, and to social work. Here in Korea they have schools for the handicapped, homes for the elderly and they also work with patients of leprosaria. Their motto is LOVE FOR ALL especially the smallest.

Located directly off of the main Hannam-dong Street our campus includes 2 buildings, 2 spacious outdoor playground, indoor playground, wading pool, and a rooftop garden. The classrooms and school are newly renovated, offering a child-centered and inquiry-based education for toddlers through kindergarten age children. Our main building, adjacent to our outdoor playground, contains our school office, as well as all preschool through kindergarten and specialist classrooms, activity room, Library and our indoor playground.
