Job Summary

Head of Product is responsible for the lifecycle of a product portfolio, defining the scope and product concepts, aligning market research to product roadmaps, building the technology and supporting the acquisition of customers to achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Product Vision
Responsible to conceptualize, communicate and deliver to market products that enable effective learning and meet student needs

Develop and communicate detailed product vision and purpose to effectively meet the complex needs of our customers in collaboration with Head of Business Development and Senior Leadership Team

Transform big picture product vision into financially viable action from beginning idea into actionable concepts, timelines, and project deliverables

Define key business and product success metrics, tracking product outcomes and championing data-driven improvements

Drive continuous improvement in the product and portfolio as a whole.

Customer Knowledge
Research, identify and prioritize customer needs, developing data-driven product roadmaps that deliver on strategic objectives

Gather relevant market, industry and research-based information, analyzing reports and dashboards to identify customer needs

Collaborate with designers, engineers, data scientists, and user researchers to analyze patterns and trends and identify core problems, opportunities

Translate research into new data driven product features and goals to drive quality user design and development

Project Management
Manage scope, schedule, and budgets of cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication and action enables delivery of solutions that achieve results

Responsible for the overall project management of product design, development and delivery, providing leadership, coordination and management in partnership with PMO team

Responsible for communicating concepts, timelines, budget and product deliverable expectations across all product teams, ensuring that every team is led by a unified and motivating vision

Recommend and implement processes, quality control systems and collaborative approaches to align teams and to drive toward a scalable product portfolio that will drive product profitability and sales growth

Support product rollout, updates and implementation, ensuring the developed strategies achieve targeted goals and responses

Maintain release documentation and train cross functional teams on new product features, enablement, and data targets

Team Leadership
Responsible for managing high performing teams capable of creative, reliable delivery and achievement of objectives and key results

Responsible for leadership of assigned product related team including Education (Research, Content and Production), Product Management, and Technology Development fostering an aligned product vision

Hires, organizes and enables high performing teams to achieve established KPI and objectives

Builds effective relationships with team members across the organization, inviting and facilitating problem solving and ideas generation to help empower individual capabilities

Trains, coaches, and develops team members, ensuring clear expectations are communicated and period reviews and feedback enable results

Establishes schedules, processes, deadlines, and targeted results to enable ongoing improvement and ability to achieve results

Educational Qualification

Master’s degree and experience in related field preferable

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience managing complex product strategy and execution
  • Minimum 5 years experience in product management
  • Preferable experience in the education domain

Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Mastery of the product management disciplines, principals, methodologies and trends with hands-on experience in delivering world-class products
  • Proven ability to develop product strategies, effectively communicate recommendations and break down strategy into actionable components for execution
  • Experience driving digital product vision and design discussions
  • Proven track record leading and managing sizable agile technology based teams
  • Experienced in Scrum Management and the role of the product owner within an agile team
  • Skilled with data analysis to help steer the results of product initiatives and decision making
  • Hands-on experience establishing and managing holistic product management systems across multiple teams
  • Passion for user-experience and user-centered products
  • Experience working with both creative and technology teams

Operational Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent problem-solving skills to conceptualize and analyze complex business and technical issues
  • Leadership and collaboration with cross-functional teams in an agile organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal alignment and client presentations
  • Fluency in English and Arabic required (written, reading, and speaking)
