Rosenberg is a Swiss boarding school providing a state-of-the-art, holistic learning environment for responsible leaders of the 21st century. We are passionate about the development of meaningful learning experiences for children and young adults, typically aged 6 to 18 years.

No two students are the same. Founded as an international boarding school in 1889, Institut auf dem Rosenberg is widely considered as the pioneer of individual education, having developed and introduced the concept in a period of history which was dominated by a drive to streamline education in the interest of industrialisation.

Today, our school is a modern educational environment, true to its roots as both a pioneer of education as well as an incubator for teaching concepts which influenced and inspired the entire Swiss private school landscape. Not unlike then, Institut auf dem Rosenberg’s unique understanding of education is recognised all around the world.

Today our school is owned and managed by the Gademann Family in the 4th consecutive generation. The family is committed to preserving the holistic, individual and international heritage of the school whilst always providing the most relevant, forward-looking educational environment.

We have designed a challenging, international curriculum that offers unmatched depth and prepares students for a wide range of external examinations including IGCSEs, A-Levels, Advanced Placement® (APs), the IB® International Baccalaureate and the GIB® DP Programme.

We believe that school should be both fun and challenging, while providing academic pathways that meet every individual student’s strengths and goals for the future. The Rosenberg International Curriculum is internationally accredited and widely recognised for its academic depth and its cross-subject links to encourage interdisciplinary thinking.  It is also not at all uncommon for Rosenberg students to take early external qualifications or classes well ahead of their age-group.

Our teaching artisans continuously develop the Rosenberg International Curriculum to ensure it is both relevant and up-to-date. In the process of this, we keep up with the latest advancement in international curricula development and collaborate with world-leading universities such as ETH Zurich to jointly develop our coding, robotics and technology offering.
