Welcome to BCIS, a school community that is first and foremost a family. A family that is interconnected through its powerful mission of empowering and inspiring through challenge and compassion. As you explore our website you will see the mission lived through the diverse range of educational experiences which we offer, from the classroom to the rooftop garden, to the swimming pool, to our week without walls trips and much more.
BCIS is proud of its first-class facilities that provide progressive and open learning spaces where all students can thrive and apply their learning to real world situations. We recognize that each child is unique with their own special interests and BCIS ensures all students can develop these passions through personalized learning.
Whilst outstanding facilities and being an IB world school are important, we know that students learn best when teachers care. What distinguishes BCIS is the quality of the teaching staff who are intentional in helping each student reach their full potential in caring and supportive environments.
BCIS is proud to recognize and honor Chinese culture and traditions as an important feature of its education. This understanding of local culture as well as recognizing and respecting differences in others is an important thread that runs through the core of BCIS and helps students prepare for a globally connected world.
BCIS is a non-profit private school that welcomes students from families who understand and support the School’s mission, vision, philosophy, and goals.
BCIS admits students of all nationalities, including Chinese nationals and foreign nationals who reside in Beijing, subject to the availability of seats and resources. The School’s inclusive admissions policy provides a balanced enrollment based on gender, academic history, a student’s passions and interests, English language proficiency, and the make-up of the current student body.
We celebrate the fact that each student is different, as a person and as a learner, and we aim to offer a personalized education specifically designed to stimulate the intellectual curiosity of each child.
The BCIS Secondary School (SS) is dedicated to providing positive learning experiences that challenge students to expand their comfort zones, identify and achieve success, and prioritize their well-being. BCIS SS students are highly engaged, articulate, and active in their learning journeys. Adhering to the BCIS mission, we create learning environments that are conducive to open dialogue, creative thinking, and the development of strong communication skills necessary to incite positive social change.
In the 23/24 school year, students and parents can expect a learning model that advances agentic learning, multifaceted collaboration, and a range of opportunities for stakeholders to hone their leadership skills. The SS learning model, a cohesive thread that runs through our MYP, DP, and IDEATE curricula and our Advisory program, is designed to equip students with the future-ready skills and competencies needed to reach their highest potential and succeed in a continuously changing world. Further, our program in and outside of the institutional walls incorporates a balance between Western-style education and respect for the host culture, helping to enable every student to gain a sense of understanding, appreciation, and the need to make meaningful contributions to the world around them.

I was in this school from Grade 4-5 and I must say that this was the best school I've ever attended. One of my favorite thing about this school is the yearly trip they have called Experience China Week. It's basically your whole grade going on a trip to a different part of China. It's about the most fun a kid could get while still learning. BCIS also has a lot of school events that bring the whole school together. The students were all split into teams and get into a super fun competition at every event. Got to say tho, Blue team is the best team. GO BLUE TEAM!!!!!!!

I had attended this international school when i was 8, still remembered all the fun events they offer. One of my fan favorite was the mini olympic games they did where all the students from pre k to highschool kids come together to compete for the yearly trophy. #Blue Team For Life
