Beijing World Youth Academy is a day school for Chinese and foreign students. With the approval of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the school was established in 2001

“Locally Grounded, Globally Aware”, is the motto of the school. Whilst teaching the Chinese national curriculum, we also draw on international educational concepts, teaching methods and testing standards, as we continuously pursue innovative education. We have achieved remarkable results and become well respected in the wider educational community.

We work hard to create opportunities for students to be involved in society, using their knowledge and skills to solve practical problems, becoming a new generation of smart, dedicated, and caring young men and women, proactive lifelong learners.

Beijing World Youth Academy strives to provide members of our community excellent learning opportunities that incorporate critical investigation, exposure to different cultural perspectives and assessment against objective criteria.

Our mission is to develop principled, open-minded thinkers who are capable of integrating with diverse international communities and who are empowered to shape their environs for the improvement of quality of life for themselves and others.

Our dedicated primary school campuses offer the innovative and creative International Primary Curriculum (IPC) for students from K-Class (aged 5) all the way to Grade 5.

Just like our other programmes, the language of instruction is English and the programme is designed to give students all the building blocks they need to successfully progress through their school life. What this means is that BWYA can provide world-leading teaching programmes for students aged 5 to 18, and prepare them for university and beyond.

The IPC programme is also an active programme. Students are constantly moving and working in dynamic groups to stimulate their learning. The students are also not just proactive in responding to questions from the teacher but are positively encourage to come up with questions of their own to help shape their learning. Classes are based on a Unit of Inquiry which acts as an over-arching theme for each subject.

One of the fundamental philosophies of IPC, and one that it shares with BWYA as a whole, is that we never lose sight of our local community. So for us, this means that Chinese traditions and history are integral to our learning. Chinese is also taught as a second language.
