Job Summary
A maintenance technician will have to provide required support to technicians and assist in carrying out all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repair on all equipment /vehicles and plant maintained by various dnata Technical Services Workshops. This includes housekeeping and ad hoc tasks as assigned.
As a maintenance technician, you will:
Plan
- Plans individual tasks on a daily basis in your area of work.
Execute
- Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop & other work areas and take proper care of tools.
- Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults/defects effectively on equipment/vehicles and plant under breakdown ensuring that down time is minimized.
- Ensure that all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded in the log book/work order to help planning staff log the details of work done in the Maintenance Management System.
- Ensure that standard safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities to prevent any personal injury or equipment/vehicle and plant damage.
- Inform the Maintenance Technician/Senior Maintenance Technician of any spare parts & tools that are needed to ensure timely completion of all maintenance works.
- Assist in carrying out scheduled maintenance as per set standards (includes manufacturer’s recommendation, ISO certification requirements, safety standards, and all Legal & regulatory requirements) on the various equipment/vehicles and plants to ensure reliable/optimum utilization of the same. – Assist in the daily inspection of all equipment/vehicles and plant for operational reliability & safety, to help plan for corrective maintenance and to prevent accidents in the operational area.
- Assist in maintaining/repairing Ground Power Unit (GPU) and Preconditioned Air (PCA) units to the acceptable standards.
- Operate access equipment and Fork lift to assist the maintenance activities.
- Operate and maintain neutralization plant.
To be considered for the position, you need to have the below:
Experience in Facilities/Maintenance.Auto/Electric Mechanic
Qualification
Knowledge/skills:
- 2 years Trade certificate course in an engineering discipline.
- 2 years of experience in maintenance – Facilities/ Auto/ Electric Mechanic within a large maintenance organization, ideally aviation ground support and/or Cargo Handling Industry
- Knowledge of mechanical/electrical/electronic/automobile/air-con & refrigeration systems of Light
- Vehicles or Material Handling Equipment/Systems. Experience in maintenance of Ground Support
- Equipment or Heavy Vehicles or would be an advantage.
- Any specialized training on hydraulics/lifting equipment/conveyor systems/material handling equipment/
- PLC’s/AC-DC motor control systems/Traction batteries & chargers would be an advantage.
- Proven ability to communicate in English (verbal & written).
- UAE Driving license / Home Country Driving License (not required in Cargo areas)
- Valid licence for operating equipment (ADP) (not required in Cargo areas)
- Good understanding of the MOE, EASA/ GCAA regulation and safety standards required at the ULD
