Manila Japanese School (commonly known as MJS) is a Japanese school located in Taguig City, Philippines. We aim to nurture children who are internationally conscious and able to adapt to the global society by making the most of their experiences abroad.

Our school was founded in 1968 and has built a glorious history and traditions ever since.

Classes are conducted in Japanese, primarily by instructors dispatched from Japan, following an educational curriculum that conforms to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's curriculum guidelines.

As a unique feature, the elementary school offers two hours of English conversation lessons per week, and the junior high school offers one hour per week. Taking advantage of the warm climate, all grades also receive one hour of swimming lessons per week. Both lessons are taught in small groups by native English teachers.

For elementary school students who wish to attend, we offer one hour of Japanese language classes per week, providing an opportunity for children who are unsure about their Japanese language skills to learn the language.

We have been offering special support classes (for students with intellectual disabilities) for three years now. We also have resource rooms, and aim to provide educational activities that cater to each student as a whole school.

In terms of the learning environment, we have installed electronic whiteboards in each classroom and are promoting the use of digital textbooks. We also provide each student with a Chromebook to deepen their learning.

Our school is steeped in the MJS magic: "When you enroll in MJS (Manila Japanese School), everyone becomes kind, cheerful, and honest. Even if you are anxious about leaving Japan, you will quickly blend in with your friends and begin to smile."

This school emblem, which is a design of the Filipino national flower Sampaguita, was enacted on July 21, 1977.

Sachiko Wakuno's work was selected from 77 entries, including 60 students.

The number of flowers and buds containing the letters MJS is set to 9 on both the left and right sides, which indicates the 9th grade from the 1st grade of elementary school to the 3rd grade of junior high school.

Regarding school bus use

Using the school bus

First of all, please be aware that schools do not directly manage school bus operations, but rather provide support. In principle, they will be treated the same as public buses.

Therefore, if you would like to use the school bus after transferring to our school, after the transfer entrance exam, each family will need to submit a bus usage application form and the usage fee to enter into an individual contract with the bus operating company.

Also, if the bus route you wish to use when you transfer is full, you may have to wait for a cancellation or until additional buses begin operating.

In addition, please be aware that seats cannot be reserved in advance before transferring to the school.
