Design Coordinator

The Campus Physical Development Office of Zayed University is seeking for a talented Design Coordinator to provide the University with architectural and design (interior and exterior) services. Also, to contribute to planning and projects relating to facilities and University infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

• Works with the Campus Physical Development Office as a design coordinator
• Prepares drawings and layout designs of both campuses and their buildings. Offers proposals for changes/improvements to existing designs.
• Employs AutoCAD program for design, drawings and space analysis; uses Photoshop and 3D Max for presentation drawings.
• Prepares specifications for renovation work on both campuses.
• Is Involved with the location and layout of workstations, furniture, indoor plants and landscaping details for the University,
• Offers layout possibilities for various events held on campus, such as fashion shows and awards ceremonies.
• Prepares invitations to tender for various renovations etc. Deals with materials suppliers on an ongoing basis.
• Overlooks the execution of the respective projects undertaken in coordination with Campus Physical Development Team. Participates in the planning and design process for new facilities and infrastructure.
• Meets users of facilities from various departments for exchanging of ideas and understanding their needs and requirements before preparing final plans for any project.
• Prepares design specifications and initial drawings.
• Carries out any other project or assignment related to the position as required from time to time.
• Responsible for various material/ furniture selection, best suited for the design requirement of the University. Subject to final approval from senior management and end-user (various departments)
• Coordinate event setup and Coordinate space allocation

Required Skills

•  Knowledge of landscape and interior design
• AutoCAD, MS Office, 3D Max Photoshop, and ability to use a scanner and plotter is a must.
• Should be sufficiently experienced in various aspects of architecture and design to be able to make decisions independently and offer advice to senior management.
• Knowledge of construction and site specifications an asset
