Job Summary

To manage the Accounting department for the Foodservice division in UAE, ensure accurate daily financial records and prepare monthly financial overviews.

Key Accountabilities

Audits

  • Assist internal and external auditors during the audit process

Annual Budget

  • Support the annual budgeting exercise to produce a comprehensive financial budget that correctly reflects the business assumptions for the next year

Accounting

  • Ensure timely, accurate and transparent accounting by business unit, in line with international accounting standards to ensure that the true financial position is reflected and results in a clean annual audit report
  • Prepare monthly cost allocation, financial statements and bank reconciliations, including foreign currency accounting
  • Ensure on time and accurate monthly closing of books of account
  • Implement controls as per SOP to ensure factsheets (A&P) are fully approved, spending is controlled within agreed budgets and supplier’s contributions are pre-agreed and received on time to protect margins
  • Manage the annual inventory audit and count
  • Coordinate and control the quantification of the shortages / excesses of the stock counts to ensure accuracy of inventory in our books of account.
  • Review tax returns (VAT) to ensure accuracy of tax returns

Leadership & People Management

  • Provide the team with the necessary training and coaching to perform their tasks and assignments
  • Set annual objectives for team members, ensure that team members are appraised in an objective manner and provide continuous feedback

Working Capital / Cash Flow

  • Take actions to improve cash flows, proactive working capital management including reduction in trade and customer receivables, increasing supplier payable days.

Cost Control

  • Control Purchasing and costs to make sure they don’t exceed budget without prior management approval.
  • Analyze and monitor capital expenditures and depreciation forecast, and provide accurate information to enable decision-making over purchasing of new assets

Job requirements

  • 4 years of experience as a Senior Accountant within a FMCG/ distribution company.
  • At least 1 year of managerial Accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance
  • Professional qualification in finance i.e. ACA, ACCA, CMA or CPA.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Knowledge about JDE is preferred
  • Good leadership skills
  • Strong teamplayer
  • Analytical thinker
