Al-Bayan Bilingual School was created with a vision to prepare students for the world of today and the challenges of tomorrow. The school offers a bilingual program in which the Arabic and English languages carry equal emphasis and status, the goal of which is to bridge global progress with the traditional values of Arab culture. The school aims to foster an environment for students to develop the intellectual qualities, ethical values, and positive attitudes required for effective participation and leadership in the overall development of Kuwait and the rapidly changing world.

Al Bayan Bilingual School (BBS) is an Arabic and English learning community nurturing compassionate and innovative students, leading sustainable change and progress in Kuwait and the global environment. Al-Bayan community members take responsibility for themselves, act with honesty, treat themselves and others with respect, and model the behavior they expect from others.

Al-Bayan Bilingual School (BBS) was established in 1977 by the visionary Fawzia Hamad Al-Sultan Al-Essa with the support of fourteen women who believed in her dream. As a Kuwaiti who was educated in several countries abroad, she valued the fundamental ingredients of a quality education but at the same time believed in the importance of an Arab heritage with strong cultural values. In fact, BBS was the first school to embark on a path that defined the Arabic and English bilingual model and, as such, Fawzia paved the way for future bilingual schools in Kuwait. She was highly involved in the philosophical foundation of the school. Her clear vision and mission was responsible for the school’s success as one of the most influential private schools in Kuwait with graduates that have proven to be responsible global citizens who are committed to Kuwait and the communities that surround it.

Al-Bayan Bilingual School is:

• The first bilingual school in Kuwait that offers a Pre-School to Grade 12 education with equally strong programs in Arabic and English.
• The first school in the Gulf with 3 full accreditations, which not only guarantee recognition of our program, but also meet high international and local standards.
• One of the few schools held by a non-profit company in Kuwait, which means that our educational principles are not compromised by business interests.
• A school which offers a continuous educational program from Pre-Nursery to High School with experienced and well qualified faculty.
• A school with a low student/teacher ratio; class sizes range from 19 to 25.

Al-Bayan curriculum documents have been created to align and connect core content and concepts as well as essential skills and processes in a logical, progressively deepening manner through which students examine, analyze, and apply ideas and theories, practices and procedures to everyday situations. This process is facilitated by the Curriculum Coordinator in collaboration with BBS teachers and administration. A well-structured curriculum will ensure a firm and balanced educational foundation to guide students in becoming informed, thoughtful, and resourceful individuals who are ready to make their contributions in both the local and global societies. To this end, curriculum work continues to seek ways to be more effective, relevant, and applicable in answer to life’s continually changing challenges and demands.
