Al-Ibdaa International Private School was established in 2001. It was launched on the basis of implementing an educational model for an Omani school, distinguished by high educational standards and quality, which followed an American international curriculum and fulfilled the requirements of the Sultanate of Oman Ministry of Education.

Al-Ibda’a International School was founded in 2001 by Omani investors with the support of the Youth Fund Organization and the Oman Development Bank. Currently, the school has beyond 1000 students streamed into 40 classes from KG to grade 12.
Al-Ibda’a International School is an Omani educational institution that incorporates tradition into modernity in a balanced manner to preserve the cultural background and orient the learners towards the requirements of the 21st century.

For this purpose, A.I.S is powered with highly-qualified teachers applying an American Curriculum verified by AdvancED in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education.
To contribute in developing a brighter future for the country is a great responsibility which entails merging all efforts to serve our dear country and ascend it to a higher level of glory and honor.

To this end, Al-Ibda’a International School strives constantly to develop state-of the-art approaches and remodel methods to implement the American curriculum at its utmost perfection. The application of the modified curriculum right from the elementary level up to grade 11 results into further developing our students’ creative capabilities to better cope with the challenges of the 21st century.

The school programs and plans have meticulously heeded the educational supremacy, scientific advancement, spiritual sublimity, and psychological development. The above-mentioned domains are truly reinforced through charitable and volunteer projects which are inherently bound to instill the sense of patriotism and social responsibility into the hearts of our children.
All in all, galvanized with an unfailing commitment, Al Ibda’a International School is venturing into a limitless glory to raise the architects of the future to live up the righteous dreams of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.

Within our curriculum, we have a set of skills and standards that we ideally want our students to attain at the end of every phase in our school. The implementation of modern skills-based methods of teaching and learning is always encouraged, and students become creative, critical thinkers as a result.

The Arabic, Islamic and Social Studies program uses the curriculum set out by the Ministry of Education, and the English, Science and Math program is based on an international American curriculum. The Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) series is used for English, Science, and Math In the Elementary phase; and in the Middle school, the Holt and McDougall Littell series is used for all three subject areas.

Baseline assessments are conducted at the start of every academic year. These assessments provide the staff with a useful picture of what a child knows or can do; as well as identifying possible gaps in their learning. This evidence is used to design subsequent teaching and learning activities for the English and Arabic Fast Track programs.
