When you think of Summer, all you want to do is bask in the sun, play in the water, and engage in adventure. Luckily, there are fantastic summer camps in Cardiff that not only ensure kids have a great time but also help them gain some fundamental skills which come in handy in life.

Here is a list of the best summer camps in Cardiff:

1. Active kids Youth Summer Camps (July 07 – July 10)

Goals of the Camp: 1) To give young baseball players the experience of a lifetime in a $50+ million stadium on LSU’s beautiful campus in a fun, safe, positive, and action-packed atmosphere 2) To learn tips that will help advance their baseball development from our outstanding veteran staff of coaches 3) To develop their skills in all aspects of the game through repetition, both through playing instructional games and by doing drills Skills Covered:

Hitting, Position specific Fundamentals, throwing, base running, bunting, sliding Instructional Games: Campers will play one instructional game in the morning and one in the afternoon (lasting roughly 45 minutes- 1 hour) Format (with some flexibility): Full Day (9a-4p) will include lunch Morning Only (9a-Noon) will include one instructional game and two skill sessions 2-Day Full Day (9a-4p, pick any two days) Coaching Staff: LSU Coaching staff members, other college coaches, high school coaches, club coaches, LSU players, other college players, former players looking to get into coaching and ex-professional players Additional FAQs: *Campers will be separated by age and skill level, and we will make sure that all teammate requests are met. *All campers will receive a t-shirt *If you choose the 2-day full day option, you have the flexibility to come any 2 days for that session you pick.

2. SUMMER soccer camp (June 16 – 19)

Join our Cardiff Sockers coaching staff  for our popular summer soccer camp!  Competitive and recreational players will develop soccer skills and soccer IQ through activities and games in a fun and engaging environment.

This camp is open to players of all ages. Players will be put into small groups based on age and level of play.

Fees: $225/week

3. Extended Day Summer-Cardiff Schools (June 2 – Aug 1)

Cardiff Extended Day is excited to once again offer our incredible Summer Camp Program for students of the Cardiff School District.

(Incoming 1st Grade – Incoming 6th graders). Our camps will focus on skill building, critical thinking and group work for that week’s given theme.

We provide a structured environment with meaningful content and supplemental activities. Students are grouped by grade level and rotate through our 3 components: academics, athletics, and enrichment.

We will be operating mainly out of Rooms 8, 9 and 10 and will have a wide array of activities such as art, science, sports, and special activities.

Fees: 45$ – 200$

4. Mad Science Camps (Aug 18 – Aug 29)

Our Science Holiday Camps allow primary school children the chance to explore a whole world of Science discovery in a fun and inclusive environment. Our Camps foster a creative, enquiry based approach which allows the children to fully immerse themselves in the different topics and themes.

All our Camps are hosted by our highly trained Mad Scientists, who are accomplished Science Communicators, and go above and beyond to ensure your little camper leaves with a new wealth of Science skills and knowledge, and more importantly a massive smile.

5. Urdd Gobaith Cymru – Performing Arts (28 July – 1 August)

Our Performance Course is a bespoke course that has been specially tailored for children who are interested in being creative and performing.

Take part in singing and acting workshops, enjoy activities at the camp, and get a taste of some of Cardiff’s best attractions. This Summer Camp is run through the medium of Welsh. The price includes workshops, activities, three meals a day and en suite rooms.There is plenty of room to relax in the lounge and it has a pool table and food and drink vending machines.

7. Talent Shack

The talent shack is a great place for your budding artist. If your kid is into performing arts, then this is the place to be. At talent shack, your kid will get to engage with professional trainers. The trainers will help the child hone their artistic skills and nurture them to develop the courage to perform in front of an audience. What better way to spend the summer than spending it pursuing your passion?

Our team of teachers guide the children through a week of creating theatre. The group of mixed ages work together to put on a show from scratch that culminate in a performance for family on the Friday afternoon in our theatre, complete with costumes and lights! You will be amazed with what your children can achieve in a week.

8. ActiveKids Summer Holiday Camp

The summer holiday adventure camp provides children with the thrill of engaging in an adventure. The activities offered are pioneered by sports xtra leaders who guide the children on various activities such as treasure hunting, shelter building, and other outdoor activities. The sessions are structured to occupy children throughout the day with breaks to prevent them from being overworked. Summer holiday adventure camp is an excellent place for your child to learn skills such as team building by engaging in the various activities.

9. Holiday Playschemes at Cardiff

Aside from summer camps, Cardiff boasts of various workshops and sports activities that take place within the city such as boulders climbing centre. The centre is an action-packed place for kids that offers a day out full of climbing and other fun activities. The children get to experience a 90-minute tester that allows them to acquire the first skills of rock climbing. There are also other fun activities for children under the age of 7 years, from cargo nets to glass floors and mirror chicanes.

The Ely and Caerau summer program is another excellent place to enjoy summer in Cardiff. The program offers a variety of activities for children aged 3-11 years. These activities include arts and crafts, cooking, and outdoor activities.

11. Cardiff Muslim Primary School Fun days Summer Playschemes

Located at Cardiff Muslim Primary School, the Fundays play schemes is a great place for art and crafts, sports and a play area. The playscheme program caters to children aged 5-15 years. For a fee of £1 per child, your kid gets to enjoy fun activities during the summer holidays.

12. Children’s Sports Dragon Camp

The dragon camp is a multi-activity camp that operates during the Summer holidays. The camp serves children from ages 4-14 years. At the camp, the children get to engage in both sport and non-sport activities. The non-sport activities include a talent contest, scavenger hunts, nature walks, den building, and arts and crafts. The sports activities include hockey, swimming, table tennis, and basketball. Not only do the children get to enjoy themselves, but they also get to learn new skills and make friends.

13. Cardiff Blues Summer Camp
We have over 15 years experience of running successful rugby camps and offer a fun and interactive environment to learn the latest skills & techniques, coached by our expert Rugby Development Officers & Cardiff Rugby Community Coaches.

The camps cater for 6 -14 year olds and are being run during school holiday periods. Camps run over 1 day from 9.00am – 3.30pm.

Children attending the camp will have the opportunity to:

• Improve their individual & team skills that are directly linked to their age appropriate pathway laws.
• Meet new friends and gain confidence
• Learn true rugby values such as; Teamwork, Respect & Enjoyment

During the camp:

• All attendees will be split into groups according to age, size and ability
• All attendees will be constantly assessed by their group coach to ensure & maximise enjoyment & progression.
• All coaches are a minimum UKCC Level 1 qualified and are DBS cleared for child safety
• Each camp will have a nominated child welfare officer on site at all times.
