The American International School of Jeddah is a non-profit school that offers an authentic American education, designed to nurture students' passion for knowledge. Formerly known as Parents Cooperative School (PCS), the school was founded in 1952 by a group of expatriate parents who saw a need for a formal American curriculum education in Jeddah. It later went on to be renamed North Campus School (NCS) in 1976, Saudi Arabian International School (Saudia – SAIS) in 1985, and finally American International School of Jeddah (AISJ) in 2004. After much transition, one thing has remained the same: Our belief in and commitment to providing the best learning experience possible for each of our students. We believe in the development of the Whole Child and are committed to addressing the physical, psychological, social, emotional, and academic needs of each student. Acting as facilitators, we work hard to inspire each student to achieve their potential and pursue their dreams. We are proud to be where we are today and are excited to see what the next 60 years have in store for us.

At the heart of AISJ is our steadfast commitment to our motto - Excellence in the pursuit of dreams. We believe that children and adults should be bold dreamers that envision how they might impact the world through their creativity, innovation, communication, and exceptional character. In addition, we encourage our community to dream together in order to systemically address how we might promote a diverse vision for the future.

As we look to this shared future, we remember our successful past. The American International School of Jeddah has provided an exceptional education experience to expatriate dependents and local students for nearly 70 years. Founded in 1952, AISJ has a long standing tradition of emphasizing community as a pathway toward excellence. Since the early years, we have grown into a world class educational institution that relies on parent involvement, student voice, and a spirit of professionalism among our staff.

We welcome you to look around this site and reach out to us with any questions you might have. In addition, we encourage you to talk to your friends that might have children at AISJ to inquire about their experience. Above all our best ambassadors are our students, who demonstrate the qualities and daily academic success of AISJ. Speak with them to learn about their dreams and the success that they have found at AISJ.

Our mission is to inspire and facilitate learners through an authentic American international education in order to nurture their passion for knowledge, so they may pursue their dreams and become successful global citizens.

Our vision is to be a distinguished learning community committed to excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

Since moving to Jeddah, AISJ has been the perfect place for our child to settle into. The international focus on the curriculum has helped broaden her perspectives, and the teachers really know how to engage students in meaningful ways. The campus is welcoming and well-equipped, providing the ideal space for both academic and personal growth.

AISJ’s Elementary School has been an amazing experience for our child. The teachers are incredibly attentive, and the curriculum strikes the perfect balance between academics and creativity. We love how they encourage independent thinking while fostering a sense of community. The facilities are top-notch, with plenty of outdoor space for the kids to explore and be active. My child looks forward to going to school every day, which says it all!

Our neurodiverse kids have had a great experience at AISJ. No school is perfect, but I appreciate that they are always willing to listen and looking for ways to do improve. They appreciate parent partnership. The Support Services department (for kids with special needs) is the best in the Kingdom—they have an amazing Occupational therapist, physical therapist, speech therapists and specialized learning support teachers. The sensory room is also a fantastic addition this year. I highly recommend, especially anyone with neurodiverse kids.

This was the best school I ever went to. I spent almost my whole life there and I had the best experience in this school. It’s like a second home to me.

My kids and I have been part of this school for the last 4 years. The school has positively developed my kids' personality, they are very disciplined and sociable too. The school's mission is an active goal that all AISJ staff work towards achieving.... helping students to pursue their dreams and become successful global citizens. The most positive thing about this school is their embracement for diversity, a very rare thing to find in other schools.
